• that's a FACT!

• :0)

• mikec: unluckiest poster on this thread.

You should sit at a poker table with me

• stop grooming me.

• My bad luck is legendary

• Fucking get in!

• Nice counter attacking goal today, it's nice to see the kids starting to play some good Manchester Utd attacking style football. Still plenty of room for improvement. We need to be a little bit more direct through the midfield and Carrick is still a second behind everyone else and giving away possession in dangerous positions, I hope he gets sharper with game time.

• managed to find a bar that was showing the match, nothing much happened in the first half, apart from van der vaart showing he was a class act, then he went and undid all the good work with a ridiculous 2nd yellow, he'd been on the verge most of the 2nd half, not sure whether he was trying to make up for the missed penalty in the first but most of our good work came through him.
The first and third penalties were dubious, and I've seen them not given. does anyone know whether the two linesmen/assistant referees on the goal line, have any say in penalty shouts, or whether they are solely there to see if the ball crosses the goal line?
Bale again showed he's the real deal and huddlestone controlled the midfield especially when we went a goal down, always there with some nice control and a good pass. Got that sinking feeling when the dutchmen got sent off and then Twente promptly scored, they'd had us under pressure after their goal and it only got worse until we scored the third, which came against the run of play, and put my mind to rest.
Top of the group?! Did Inter win?

good all the way around, just need to make sure we beat whoever we face in the league...

• I believe they are there to help the ref with anything that occurs in the Box.

Most games I have watched with them appear to have alot less controversial goal mouth incidents.

Twente scored before VDV got sent off. Bit of a rash challenge though, will be hard at Inter without him. Tommy came into his own in the second half and Bale was his usual excellent self. Mclarren apparently wants him at Wolfsburg for the princely sum of 20 mill euros. ROFL!

• I'm sure lots of clubs are looking at bale, he's only 20 odd and he's come on leaps and bounds from the end of last season through this season. Hoping we don't sell, suppose the only way to keep him is for the club to keep doing well.
For some reason I'm not that worried about the Inter game, as I don't expect us to beat them, if we draw the away games against werder and twente and beat them at home, then we should come second, and we won't have to worry about the inter games to tough, just enjoy them. Eto'o and Milito are the kind of clinical finishers we need, and I can't see our defence keeping them out. But we look a whole load more balanced with hutton in as the full back rather than corluka.

•
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has warned Liverpool fans it could be "three to six months before you see improvements" in manager Roy Hodgson's side.

Yep. Give the lovely old bugger time. He started slow with us and then looked what happened...
...abject mediocrity
FUCK OFF.

"I can't believe that any investment company would be so short sighted as to lend these Americans enough money to retain control of the club."

No, it is you that is short sighted. It is all about TV rights, GLOBAL TV rights. (Soon) they simply will not need fans. If you can get the Chinese to pay £5 pay-p-view; fuck the fans at Anfield, Old trafford, anywhere.
Mark my words, the "49 game" will rear its ugly head.

• ^Clearly the ramblings of a madman.

• ^^
put the pipe down fest. take the aluminium off the windows.

(i agree with the tin foil hat though, it's a good look)

• Last night it all came back to me why I never go to away games at WHL. Spurs sold tickets for one of the away blocks to both sets of fans, what a disgrace! The bent Norwegian referee that has a dodgy history when it comes to refereeing games of teams that I support gives 3 penalties of which 2 were disputable and should have sent Huddlestone off for an elbow in the first half and all.
OB won't let you leave until 4545 minutes after the game has finished and insist that you walk to Seven Sisters when WHL is only 5 minutes away.
[endofrant]

Apart from that Spurs pretty much deserved to win, but still think the ref had a negative influence on the game and pretty much made it impossible to make a real game of it, Huddlestone was very good and vd Vaart got on my nerves, he's not Zidane and if I was a manager I'd be annoyed with the little twat. He demands all free kicks, penalties and will shoot whenever he feels like it, most selfish player I've seen in a long time.

• Mark my words, the "49 game" will rear its ugly head.

When did they decide to try to add 11 extra games?

• When they added six-and-a-half extra teams, silly!

• That Spurs ref was wank!

Haven't FIFA learnt anything from Scandinavian refs? They're all shite

• Candle face was the first thing I saw on the TV this morning as I got into work. It put me off my breakfast.
Well done to Tottenham, you were great last night and needed no assistance from dodgy ref decisions

• why not get a skyplayer subscription. it works, and the picture quality is very good.

because it involves giving money to that meglomaniac murdoch
never

• I agree with some of what you say jaw, but for my money, old RVDV is a legend in the making at the Lane.
Least he looks well up for it.
His goal was a fucking peach.
Yes, he then was too fired up to keep calm, but that's the down side of passionate players.
Hopefully his (positive) influence will rub off on some other players.

Somewhat fortunate, yet typically dramatic night at the Lane.

• Huddlestone should've walked. Bale's penalty was the only nailed on one.

The crounch one is a sign of things to come, they've been nagging on about contact in the box for ages, and the guy just rugby talked Crouch. There was no attempt to play the ball.

• @mikec

how do you manage to make a coment on a game, only for it to suddenly turn against your favour.

Perhaps you should start slagging off liverpool. it might turn their fortunes.

Try it tonight!

until levy gets an offer for him that will turn a profit
