Exactly. Looked OK for 70mins, but toothless in the final third. Liverpool very much on the beach but had enough quality to take the game away in the last 20.
Not optimistic about the end of this season. -

Fuck knows but if I’m selling a house the only thing that I’m interested in is that the other party has the funds in place to complete the deal.
If they default on the mortgage two years later I don’t know how that could be my fault.
Liverpool selling to Hicks and Gillette is a close comparison... promise a load then shank theclub

it's really hard to call.
Norwich are gone. I don't see Bournemouth turning it around either.Probably between you and Watford. And Villa have a little extra quality and more importantly seem up for the fight.
I don't remember an end of the season so tight. Usually with five games to go one team has already been relegated.

The battle for European places is quite interesting - but the relegation battle much more so.
Good luck Ru. would like to see Villa and West Ham stay up. Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth to drop

Hicks and Gillette
I'd forgotten all about them. What a bunch of jokers.

Going to be tight for sure. Norwich gone + 2 from...
Watford: Norwich, Newcastle, West Ham, City, Arsenal.
Villa: Utd, Palace, Everton, Arsenal, West Ham.
Bournemouth: Spurs, Leicester, City, Southampton, Everton. Can't see mid-table teams busting a gut now, so will be some points to be had. Hopefully West Ham get safe by beating Watford, then put their slippers on for the final game.

Some top Spurs-ing going on; winning at half time but Son and Lloris having to be held back from fighting each other
-

Bournemouth are down - they look utterly hopeless and I could unfortunately see them going under quickly given their pretty shakey finances
I think Villa maybe have the better run in and need to stay up given the amount they've spent on players with questionable resale value

I agree with @jaw here. Whelan was 81 and had done right by Wigan for what 20+years? He sold to what was by all accounts a reputable business who have hit harder times since then judging by their financial performance. I think they gambled on Wigan getting promoted, that didn't happen and then have tried to fudge it from there

can't believe I watched the extra time of the Oxford v Portsmouth game in my local but had to leave before the penalty shoot out.

You’ve changed, man.

Ralf Rangnick as AC Milan manager is an interesting one. Not sure how he's going to turn it around their shambles of a squad and the reported financial issues they have had. Unless their youth setup is doing well? Last throw of the dice for the owners?

Chelsea away kit revealed.
So basically a Man City knock off.

Interesting appointment. Going from the CL into the EL at best seems a step down. He must’ve been desperate to leave Leipzig.

Its a long running saga and still not clear if he will be manager or manager/DoF.
It's clear that Gazidis has pushed this, both Boban and Maldini have levelled accusations at him over this. Which given their status as club legends means this appointment really needs to work. I'm not so down on their squad, they have a decent spine of strong young players and with a few additions it can make sense. They should stop clinging onto or signing old players who won't be able to play under Rangnick's style of play. -

So, remember Danny Welbeck?

What's the Baggies prediction for tonight?
We looked toothless against Forest, but I think that West Brom play a more attacking style that might allow us to play our game better too. With Cardiff losing last night we can move up to equal points with 6th place if we win, so there is a big incentive for us too.
I didn't think we'd be in with a chance of the playoffs before lockdown, but it's the hope that kills ya.

We'd forgotten how to score post lockdown, but have remembered in the last two games with 7 goals coming from 5 different players.
Still super vulnerable to mistakes at the back though so you're in with a solid shout.

I think we play well against teams that don't press high up the pitch. Our midfield has been the real revelation since the new year. Rooney coming in and some bright academy prospects really stepping up and making a name for themselves (Bird, Sibley and Knight). It's hard for teams to take all of them out of the game, so there's usually time on the ball for at least one or two of them to dictate things.
We'll probably win the possession, but I'm not sure how well we'll convert chances without Lawrence or Waghorn available.
Leaking 2 goals a game on average, playing the champions away as they look to bounce back from a heavy defeat. Should be a fun afternoon.
