Haaland to Dortmund.
And then where?
Dortmund is some sort of finishing school for hyper talents. -

Felt like the Bayern job came a bit early for him. And despite his firing, not sure it affected how he is viewed, just like how getting fired by Real Madrid or PSG doesn’t really affect whether you can get another managerial job or not.
Don’t know the ins and outs of his eintracht tenure, but other jobs will come up for him in Europe -

Think his agent (mina raiola -sp!) played a big part in this, chance to get another bumper payday in a couple of years if haaland shows he can do it in a more competitive league.
Also might be the piece that solidifies Dortmund’s title challenge this season, if he hits the ground running.. -

Raiola is a master.

Don’t worry I’m far from a Dildo Bros & Baroness Butt Plug fan, however I also get a feeling of better the devil you know.
Its not like all premier league clubs have great owners/boards, Leicester and as painful as I find it Spurs seem to be getting most things right. But look at Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle as to how their fans regard their owners.G&S have redeveloped Rush Green as far as I recall the training ground recently and youth seems to be doing pretty well too, with numerous developed players breaking or on the verge of breaking into the 1st team.

Moyes is a crap move, should have been BFS.

In regards to signing a new manager it would seem they we’re going to go for Moyes. I’m fairly certain Kovac wasn’t approached or an exciting Championship manager such as Bielsa.
After all, if you don’t ask you don’t get and surely you’ve got to aim high and try and tempt highly regarded Managers into the position. -

Are we allowed to take a minute to laugh at Arsenal?
-
• #152185
And also at Tottenham and ManU who, despite us being shit, still trail us in the league.

Gold and Sullivan have been at West Ham for what 15years? More?
During which time the mighty fighting cocks have won the grand total of one league cup.
Why would Nico Kovac, or any other young ambitious manager (Eddie Howe has been mentioned) come to you for?
And Spurs replace the winless "sheriff" with the young and upcoming Mourinho...
For fucks sake, patronising or what?

If relegation would lead to either club being sold, I would love West Ham and Newcastle to go down, for the sake of their fans as much as anyone.

In other owner news, seems that Abramovich is getting his working visa back.
So just after an election during which a report on Russian interference in our political system was suppressed and at a time when it appears that some of the largest donors to the ruling party are Russian, this happens. What a sweet coincidence.

Interesting, considering he’s dual citizen Israeli, does he even need one?

Israeli citizens are allowed to live and work in the UK without restriction?
-
• #152194
Visit but not live or work. Many who do live or work here do so thanks to grand parented EU citizenship. That isn’t available to Abramovich.

Moyes win rate during his last spell at WHUFC:
29%
Aspirational. They can’t play Chelsea every week.

“So Gold and Sullivan, taking advice from Moyes, brought in some experts to look at how the club was being run from top to bottom. What they found astounded them.
The findings showed that there were not enough full-time staff in key positions, that there were no real processes or structure and that there needed to be a massive overhaul behind the scenes.
The expert auditors were stunned that the analysis department was so small and surprised that only a few scouts were employed across Europe considering the vast amounts of money that were being spent on signing players for a Premier League club. Some of the scouting information was not even kept electronically. It looked like West Ham were a long way off having the infrastructure in place to succeed.
And so changes were made. More and better people were hired and West Ham looked to the future, ambitious and determined to break into the top six, or at least back into the tier underneath that. Karren Brady even threw a party for staff as the season started, determined to improve their happiness and make them feel part of the club before an important season.
But some lessons were not learnt.“

Why is everyone 'up in arms' at armpit-gate? This is VAR working - it's the rules that need changing. The offside explanation (any part of the body that can play the ball) includes the shoulder area so I honestly don't know what the fuss is about; it's like VAR is too accurate! Just change the rule to head or boot if needs be
-
• #152199
I think there's some science behind why VAR is flawed. It's physics
-
• #152200
I agree; it's not used, IMO, in a way that's 'in the best interests of the game' but perhaps the rules need some amendments around VAR (not just vice-versa) to make it work bettee
Kovac was at Frankfurt and did a good job winning the cup, however his Adi Hutter took them to the next level I'd say. It was a huge surprise that he got the Bayern job, and although he won the league (or rather, Dortmund lost it) he underachieved with an exceptionally talented squad, albeit one that did need refreshing.
He won't get another job so high profile, so what makes you say West Ham is now below him?
