Fair play to Chelsea, whupped our arses.
The Chelsea 'fan' who is alleged ot have called Raheem Sterling 'a fucking black cunt' - was it John Terry?

Wouldn’t say “whupped your asses”.
In the first half we contained your forwards but on another day could have conceded two or three.
Scored a decent goal. Gained in confidence immediately. The second half was much more even. You had around a dozen corners and scored from none. We had one. And scored.
Until the final whistle went, there was the prospect of a comeback. Luckily it did not materialise.Pep planned his game around what he thought Chelsea would do not around what Chelsea did. He showed a lack of flexibility.

Would Sarri actually have allowed Chelsea's first goal though, or was Luiz disobeying his orders?
The number of times they unsuccessfully played out the back before Luiz finally gambled with a long ball, which paid off - was that all part of a tactical masterplan, or was that player frustration with tactics and a style of play that was being negated by Man City being set up to stop it?

I think City were leggy from 45 minutes of relentless pressing and slipped up.
Great skill from Hazard to make a yard and a thumping finish from Kanté, who should have been picked up making his run.
Fernandinho is a great player but he’s 33 and he can’t run for 90 mins twice a week.

This is precisely why Luiz has been preferred this season. He has an excellent long pass on him and has been using it to good effect.

It's been shown many many times that Middlesbrough FC is the only club in the football prymid to not have any racist supporters. They say it's due to the high high calibre of supporter.

Big game on tonight, no Suarez, no ter Stegen, possibly no busquets, rakitic and more importantly Messi.
But it’s still a big ask to get a result in the nou camp.
Both excited and dreading the match. Walker peters with his first champions league start, Lamela hopefully back from injury, wondering whether we go at them with Dele, Eriksen, Son and Kane, or whether the sheriff tries to change it up. He’s only won there once in nine matches, his first as manager of espanyol, so plenty to overcome..Not sure where I’ll watch it. Pub down the road from me shows the footie, but with the Liverpool match on as well, not sure which one will be on..

With no Suarez, no ter Stegen, possibly no busquets, rakitic and more importantly Messi, are you actually playing Barcelona?

You were reading my mind.
Does corny work in marketing at BT sports now?

I must say I'm so excited that I'll be out on the mum bike collecting parcels and doing hill reps.

Can only beat the team that takes the field against you and since they aren’t called “not quite Barcelona” it’ll be Barcelona we beat or lose to..
@jaw thought your lot were #stillhigh or is that not a thing anymore. No bt sport shill here, just excited/daunted/worried/confident about the game tonight..

Being kept in the competition by PSV snatching a cheap goal against inter, to match the cheap one we gave to Barca.
Feel for KWP, but he’s got to learn, winks sold himself with the sliding tackle when he’d done the hard work in getting back.
We’ve got goals in us in this game and son, should have equalised, had the better of the last 25mins of the first half.
Busquets coming on shows valverde saw it as well, he’s hoping he introduce a degree of control..

Mane's finishing has been incredible tonight.

Fuck yes Lucas!!!!
And inter denied!
COYS
No Thursdays for this season! So fucking relieved.
All over them and nothing to show for it until Lucas popped up and tapped it home.
Then 6mins of extra time in the inter game. Heart attack territory.. -

get in
but ooofff that last 56mins was very nervy, napoli just needed the one
allisson paid for himself with that injury time save, roll on the knock out stages -

Incredible the difference a keeper makes. I've not generally felt this relaxed since Pepe Reina. Great result despite the WANK finishing. But at least they're getting into positions to miss. As someone else pointed out, Mane has those type of games about once a season so hopefully that is out of the way. Matip looked imperious this eve. Koulibally (sp) looks a very good player whoever is getting him.

Matip's passing was great too.

Another famous European night at Anfield
Allison has repaid his transfer fee already. Onwards we go....
As Pep pointed out, our goals came from a counter attack and a corner. Such goals shouldn’t count.
