Obviously I'm biased and a liverpool fan so know nothing about football, but he seems to just hang around in front of goal and tap in rebounds which, while I admit means he scores lots of goals, also means he'd be that smug guy in the playground that managed to be overweight yet still dick all over you at PE.

It's funny this thread. Ali and Kane are widely acknowledged to be amongst the biggest divers/cheats whatever you want to cal it currently playing in the PL. But as soon as they use their gamesmanship against Liverpool, we aren't allowed to discuss it and just get the usual no-nothing-Kopites response. Red cards need to be handed out for diving to put a stop to this. It really is that simple

He expected more contact than there actually was, left a leg trailing hoping to make contact.
This is a great description of a player diving after not being touched.
I think the vitriol is building, but that's probably because he keeps doing things like that dive yesterday.
It's not entirely his fault, he's a young lad and is influenced by the game where the view is "winning" a penalty is fine, you're entitled to go down if there's contact (even if you instigate that contact), etc. People are getting pissed off with that though and he's the epitome of that at the moment.

As an out and out striker he has to be up there.
Problem is that he has only played 8 CL matches in his career. To be considered the best he has to play with the best and that means he’ll have to go to Spain to prove himself.
