Nope

Fair enough.

Didn’t we establish years ago that Mike has never actually been to Liverpool? He probably thinks the Beatles were from up north somewhere.

Dodged a bullet.

OK sure they were both stonewall penalties and Kane and Ali do not dive or play nasty. Does that fit the rhetoric?
-
• #140957
No. The point was that if it was Salah instead of Alli you’d be defending him, i.e. it’s about the partisanship not the actual behaviour.

Can someone dredge the last 10 years of this thread for mike sticking up for Liverpool players that have kicked someone, dived, racially abused someone, beaten a partner, spat, waved a fake card, burned down a local library, been a bit obnoxious etc etc. Please?
I'm a bit busy.
-
• #140959
I don't see your point. Salah does not behave like that whereas Ali does. He's needs a few red cards to shake him up a bit.
-
• #140960
fuck you're hard work.
WE ARE SAYING YOU ARE EXHIBITING BIAS.

NOT COMMENTING ON SPECIFIC ACTION OF PLAYERS

Well, it was a pretty blatant dive. The Paddy Power take on it was pretty accurate https://twitter.com/paddypower/status/960210262556069890
The more I've seen him live (going to actual games rather than watching on tv so you see off the ball as well) the bigger twat he's looked. Always in the referee's ear, leaves his foot, unnecessarily getting involved in everything always the first to start shoving the opposition players, and of course hurling himself to the ground if anyone goes near him.
I'm not denying he's a good player and he's a lot bigger and stronger than you'd expect but he'd be getting sent off a lot more if he wasn't the current golden boy.

Bias? In the footie thread? Nah, mate...
-
• #140964
I'm here to stamp it out! I will be dedicating the next week to endlessly pointing out and analysing each case of bias I observe. At that point I expect the ghost of pisti to rise up and close the thread, pulling us all out of this downward spiral of misery so we can get on with our lives.
I'm looking forward to my new freedom.

But where will we go for insightful commentary and bantz?

Games?

Scratch that, stupid idea

He got a yellow card, accepted it, moved on, a penalty was not awarded, it did not change the outcome of the match.
He expected more contact than there actually was, left a leg trailing hoping to make contact.
I shrug my shoulders at your anger, and the thought that he gets away with it more than any other player in the league because he's this imagined "golden boy".The vitriol is building, with fan group think probably leading towards some sort of beckham backlash if he does anything untoward at the world cup. Personally I don't think he'd deserve that. And I'd think I'd say that if he played for another club.
-
• #140969
Yep good on him. Great to see him playing and scoring. I just hope he'll want to come back and play for Everton, preferably for a different manager.

Love it. As blinkered excuses go, that one takes the Hobnob.

• #140971
Ha! this is excellent.
'its the modern game - you can't touch a player in the box'
This whole 'winning' a penalty is bollocks. -
• #140972
He cheats but he's our cheat.

Ian Wright on 5live last night talking to Harry Kane:
'you're the best in europe'
wtf? -
• #140974
Best at what?

Eh! Can't hear you over your overuse of Chelsea as plucky underdogs trope.
Alli is a nasty spiky talented player. he polarises opinion. He gets kicked and he dishes it out. You know he'd spend all day needling you and unless you clatter him hard enough and tell him to fuck off, you'll lose it and get sent off. Or get sent off when you prewarn him by clattering him.
