Gerrard is the weak link in the England side; him and his little buddy Capello. Useless, the pair of them.

• #13956
Rooney ought to be on a flight home as well.

Stop being such a pro Chelsea tit. Lampard's been shite for England for years. Gerrard is a shade better

Good call, forgot about him
So there it is then, a MF line-up of
Milner - - - Gerrard - - - Barry - - - Cole
Yep - i'd go with that, not world class but at least they will put some fucking effort in
Rooney and Defoe upfront
So whats the plan for Wednesday?

They can't hold it off forever, it's getting ridiculous that a ref can't watch a quick reply on the big screen - especially in important decisions like a sending off or a contested goal - the old argument of it slowing the game up is horeshit, you waste more time with everyone protesting a bad decision and circling the ref - and with technology available now you can set up and reply the event in seconds - what's insane is that even people sat on their sofa at home in their underpants can make a better assessment of how to call it as they get to see several replays from various angles, while the ref needs to use divination and guesswork - it's ludicrous.
As for the threat of every foul being contested, each team could have a set amount of calls to the big screen (like 4 or 5 . . . . ) to prevent this.
I can well imagine in the near future instant replays of incidents for the crowd on the big screen and the ref having to shield his eyes in case he sees what actually happened.
Fucking ridiculous.
[/rant off . . . .]
grounds can't replay those incidents, they did once at Shite hart lane and it all kicked off. the crowd turn against the ref.
If you bring in time outs for video replays ITV will fill that with a fucking advert, it should stay as it is, it all balances out during the run of things

^this. +1. etc.
once there's a chance to argue with a ref and produce evidence we may as well invite lawyers in.
we've enough problems with cliveo being a chelsea fan as it is. imagine the future.
anyway.
wednesday:
who has a big screen at work? i don't. -

Bad decisions can swing a game - maybe not a problem in a league because as you say over a load of games some sort of balance emerges - but with tournaments from the knockout stage onwards you can basically see your whole team kicked out over a fake dive or some other theatrics.
Good point though about inciting riots . . . . maybe the monitor is iPad sized and the ref runs over to grab it off an official.

No arguing with the ref, no appealing, no surrounding the ref, no producing evidence, the ref takes a look and makes a decision and that decision is final.
Basically as it stands now - except with video assist.

american football allows each manager the ability to challenge the ref on a call.
i hope that this is not included in the "plan". -

We did the USA game and various others, but looks like they're not showing Slovenia. Soz.

Don't be silly. It works in cricket.
Funny, or not, we also went on to eliminate Brazil on that WC, only to be put out by England on the Semis.
