that's not such a problem
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2010/mar/24/the-question-inside-out-wingershaving the space for cole to push into when gerrard cuts inside is a good thing.

having gerrard unable to play in that role comfortably is.

If only Rooney could read that open letter...

Cameroon Denmark game was a real good one. One of the best so far, very engaging

Rooney should be sent home like the French did to Anelka.
-
• #13832
^^Did they send him home then?

Oh yeah Lol. He abused the manager and refused to apologise. I'm not surprised he does look like a bit of a twat, has that O'Neill look about him
-

Thing is domenech is a twat and the french fa should have got rid after the last euros. Not anelkas greatest fan but giving your shit manager a bit of the hairdryer when France are obviously shit and it's the manager that I'd responsible is fiat enough.

What Rooney did was worse and then he has PR people issue an apology and everything's meant to be OK. Well, it isn't. Nasty little oik.

The whole team are an embarrassment to the game itself. Individually there is so much genuine talent, but collectively they're shocking. Capello is starting to look a bit like David Brent.

This
Crackin game, both played some lovely football. Open game, played the ball on the deck and some long spells of posession by both.
England should take note -

The sad thing is, Cameroon are the first team to go home yet would've spanked England 5-0 on last nights performance
-
• #13839
Yeah, but you play your opposition.

LIVE on SSN now - John Terry press conference. Can't wait to hear what that thick cunt's gotta say...

NOTW are laying the blame solely at Capellos feet.

He's not the one that can't pass 3+ passes together
He's not the one who has the first touch of a rapist
He's not the one who can't pass to his own players
He's not the one who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo
He's not the one who spills pea rollersHe is however the one that plays Heskey, plays Gerrard at LM, brings SWP and Carragher to the WC and leaves Joe Cole on the bench

Agreed
My Mrs hates football and she was getting well into it - even commenting on 'how they pass the ball better and run quicker than England'

Thanks for those pearls of wisdom
My point was that england have a habit of rising to good teams, and lowering ourselves to poor teams.
Algeria was a new low though, for me at least.

Interesting, according to different sources, depending on what you believe, both Roy Hodgson and some geezer called Pelligrino have been appointed as Liverpool boss this weekend. Not sure who this Pelligrino guy is, bue he does look like he belongs in films. Bookies still have Hodgson as big favourite though
You've missed the point
We all know he shouldn't play left mid but Capello obviously thinks he's capable of doing so.
What happens when he plays there is that he naturallry drifts inside and/or cuts in to use his favoured right foot thus leaving acres of space for the oppositon attacker to exploit. More importantly it leaves the left back open to being caught out
Baines was slated for his poor performance yet the failings of Gerrard were the real reason England suffered down the left, as was the case with last night and Cole
As much as I hate Cole he is one of the best LB's in the world and he was left unable to attack(which he excels at) last night as he was constantly on the back foot covering the space and two players left by Gerrard
