You should be used to it by now, he's been refusing to spend money for the last 15 years.

The gripe is that stadium is built and done and still those twats just sit on their pile of gold
-
• #129854
But you're right.

It must be very frustrating for an Arsenal fan, as you ought to be be attracting/signing the best with the added attraction of living in London.

• #129856
Like Jonny Evans you mean?

• #129857
Sigh.

When a man is tired of West Brom, he must truly be tired of life.

I'm assuming you meant Yakubu. Questioning his age because he's African + mentioning that Lukaku is Nigerian who's born in Antwerp and of Congolese lineage is kind of racist.

Jonny Evans, really?!?
I would piss my pants if this actually happened!!
-
• #129861
I would think a bit creative accounting from adidas in shifting a player between two of their teams is helping along that "world record" fee
-
• #129862
Sorry, I did mean Yakubu - they all look the same to me
-
• #129863
Is the Jonny Evans deal confirmed?
Quite the panic buy if true.

• #129864
Fucking racist.

Jonny Evans to Arsenal has put a smile back on my face.

Do you think tackling is important when you're defending?
Frank de Boer, one of the last good dutch CB used to pride himself in his pristine shorts and teaches his defenders to stay on their feet. Tackling is a last case scenario and I assume that if you don't do it often you're probably not great at it.

Phil Jones has brushed up nicely.

Clearing the ball is also pretty important though right?
37th should be what, slightly better than Alan Hutton? Jamaal Lascelles?

Xabi Alonsohttps://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/nov/11/xabi-alonso-spain-england-interview
There is a pause as Alonso reaches, again, the crux of the issue. A single English word he returns to that, unpacked, analysed and investigated, explains much. "I don't think tackling is a quality," he says. "It is a recurso, something you have to resort to, not a characteristic of your game. At Liverpool I used to read the matchday programme and you'd read an interview with a lad from the youth team. They'd ask: age, heroes, strong points, etc. He'd reply: 'Shooting and tackling'. I can't get into my head that football development would educate tackling as a quality, something to learn, to teach, a characteristic of your play. How can that be a way of seeing the game? I just don't understand football in those terms. Tackling is a [last] resort, and you will need it, but it isn't a quality to aspire to, a definition. It's hard to change because it's so rooted in the English football culture, but I don't understand it."
