Exactly, in footballing terms NY Red Bulls or whatever sounds like a pretty stupid move.
In life terms, getting paid shit loads to play football and live in NYC sounds amazing.

I wasn't suggesting there was anything wrong with it. He'd be mental to give up living in a major US city and playing a less intense form of football for a relegation scrap here.
-
• #123279
Exactly, more so considering he's 34.

The MLS is getting better all the time. Of course it's still no better than championship level, but they are starting to get better players, earlier in their career.
There is a huge fanbase, and plenty of TV interest, if they don't screw it up, it could be a major league in a few years.

We started the game in a similar fashion to how we've commenced most games this season, but forgot to score.
Most importantly, we were able to make Shelvey look very good indeed.

Yep I expect so - unless some Chinese team offer him some crazy bucks.
I just think he could still do a job for a team in the Premier League

Agreed i was very surprised how it has grown and the large level of support it gets, with was chatting with a bloke the other day his son (15/16ish) is great all rounder at sport and he wants him to keep at soccer and not go near American football because of the punishment the body takes even at junior level, i was surprised as this bloke loves his American football.

not go near American football because of the punishment the body takes even at junior level
Yeah, injuries and concussions especially are a huge talking point in American Football and Ice Hockey over here right now. A lot of people are realising that taking serious blows to the head, below the age of 18, for that 1% chance you might make the big time, is not a good trade off.
In addition, playing football is very cheap for kids, compared to the costs to buy all the pads and equipment for those sports.
As such, a lot of parents I know, push their kids away from those sport, and towards football.

1% seems extremely generous

I posted some time ago about concussion in us football. I think there are trials i n place to outlaw headers and the us is going to test this in womenswear football first.

The accumative damage from heading is worse than American football.

Well Andy Carroll's career is definitely over then.

Andy Carroll doesn't use his head to store his brain.

Mancini and Sarri having an altercation on the touchline
When asked by reporters if he used homophobic language in the row with Mancini, Sarri said: "I can't remember, it’s possible.
"I was fired up and angry, so I’m not sure what I said. Adrenaline does strange things to people and can trip you up.
"Am I homophobic? That seems over the top. I was just irritable."
After his team's 2-0 defeat, Sarri added: "As far as I’m concerned, it was part of the game and at the 90th minute it’s all over.
"It was the kind of argument that people have on the touchline or on the pitch. I apologised to him in the locker room, but I expected him to apologise to me too.

Daniel Sturridge being lined up by West Ham. As if they needed another sick note from Liverpool

Jorge Sampaoli has resigned from his post with Chile.
Simeone to Chelsea and Sampaoli to Atletico?

"Am I homophobic? That seems over the top."
Well you do have previous on that count, Mr Sarri.

West Ham don't need him.
He isn't good enough.

He'd be worth a punt at half of the quoted price and you can offload that goon that you have on the books already.
You wouldn't want to pay the medical team overtime after all.
Nowt wrong with that.
He might even get a two or three year deal there and a better quality of life too.
Where would you go, Birmingham or Miami/LA/NYC/Chicago etc.
