Jose doesn't seem to be in a happy place at the moment.
People are referring to the strained relationship with Emenalo and Granovskaia and their inability of landing his desired transfer yearners targets this summer.
Graun podcast mentioned that the players look knackered and are still recovering from last season which kind of rings true.
Can't be easy for the man with his father battling with long term sickness.
I still want him to stay, even with all the shenanigans that you have to put up with. It's still a hell of a lot more fun with Jose in charge than without him. One season blip we can deal with. Wouldn't want to see how the press and public reacts when we don't win the league for more than two years. Let alone >10 years...

That Warburton guy is doing alright north of the border.

Had to spend a couple of days in Stoke this summer with work, can confirm everything.
Fact - my marriage broke up quite spectacularly on Xmas Day a few years ago, and my ex drove off. She ended up spending Christmas Night in a travelodge in Stoke. It's the only thing I feel bad about. /csb

A cold, wet, windy night in Stoke. Jose will love it tonight.
Also reading that Kiev bile doesn't half anger you...

Really hope Chelsea win tonight to give us the opportunity of delivering the tossers p45 at the weekend. It's unlikely we will get a result there but the chance of it is worth a shot. How glorious it would be if we beat them on Saturday and it was Adios Cuntos on Sunday

It seems like he's sort of played all his cards though. He shuffled the deck a few times this season and has tried to get a rise from one or two key players, but it's just not happening. The team is tired, not terribly fit and looks jaded - even though they have improved in the last 3 weeks. No amount of route one psychology and cheap tricks is going to solve that.
If he had an ounce of humility, bothered to manage expectations, and behaved like a professional instead of a clown, then he might be given a longer rope by the media and Ambramovich. As it is - he's dug his own grave.
I will freely admit that I like Mourinho, and I think having someone like him around adds something to the PL that few other people can bring. However, even I am bored to death of his behaviour. Part of me feels sorry for the guy; he's clearly not able to maintain 'normal' relationships with his staff or players — he's always in a self-destructive feast or famine cycle. I'd like him to stay in the league but it seems like he's propelling himself towards the door.

What about the Guardian football section?
Personally I can't get through the day without seeing Barney Ronay mangle the English language.

I'm sure Corney will post it up here in due course.

I don't really read the papers much these days. I skim, listen to a few podcasts, watch football and the post-match interviews. That's about it. Just saying what I see.
