  • at least while we were languishing and not winning titles we kept our good senses of humour

  • Yup could be a good signing for us.

On the Falcao signing, 65m euro for a 28 year old first season back after a serious knee injury doesn't strike me as value but if he can get them into the champions league I guess job well done

  • Oh Dicki lad I've kept my humour, let me know when you say something funny.

  • It was knee jerk. I did apologise pretty much instantly, because I felt it was a bit Roy Keane off the leash.

liking Micah Richards to Fiorentina, chance for a young english player to learn their craft abroad, rebuild reputations and all that.

However, that sentence suggests that you think he could learn more abroad etc and so on. I'd suggest otherwise given he's 26 and he should have pushed on if he was good enough. I recognise the chances of a top top talent actually becoming a top top player are very slim. There's so much to go wrong. Especially in Modern Football. Going to Fiorentina may prove to be great for him. I doubt he'll get back into the England set up. (MUST PLAY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, THEREFORE MUST PLAY FOR TOP 4 TEAM).

(I agree with you on Falcao)
(but I have just read yesterday's fiver....)

    Guess which book I'm reading:
It's easier to spend money on things that you can measure, goals, assists. It's harder to spend money on things that will improve your weaker links if you the tools for analysis cannot reveal things that are not being measured. For example, tackling. Tackling is easy to measure. But, as Xabi A says, tackling is a last ditch measure. Tackling isn't something you should want to be good at.

And, isn't it interesting that Liverpool have purchased a big centre forward who is mobile and can score goals.
Looking at the stats and outputs, Andy Carroll could have been worth it. (according to the book I'm reading)

  • Wellbeck at arsenal? Mega Lozzles

When Plan B is Sanogo then Wellbeck looks an inspired signing.

(Although it is unlikely to happen by all accounts).

  • Gonna buy this for @Pistanator if Everton sign Cleverley.

Is he gonna be this seasons Gareth Barry?

  • It was knee jerk. I did apologise pretty much instantly, because I felt it was a bit Roy Keane off the leash.

I did see that, but I was already into writing the response so thought I should carry on.

  • I'd suggest otherwise given he's 26 and he should have pushed on if he was good enough. I recognise the chances of a top top talent actually becoming a top top player are very slim.

I'd disagree as the more you play the more you learn and progress and Micah hasn't played for a long time. I'm not saying he'll be a top top talent, but he should be better than workmalike. Even if he doesn't get into the England set-up (though I would argue that he's as good as Kyle Walker, who he would have to supplant) just him going abroad is a good thing.

But that's my own personal hobby horse...

  • It's like battle of the reducers.

  • When Plan B is Sanogo then Wellbeck looks an inspired signing.

Not happy that Welbeck is being considered by Spurs as the answer to our striker conundrum, and would he be an upgrade on what you've got? Isn't Joel Campbell a better player than Sanogo, or is Wenger looking for big bodies to hold up the ball?

  • I reckon I'd score more goals than Sanogo, given the same amount of opportunities.

  • It's insane. Just ridiculous doing all this business in the last few hours - all sense of proportion is lost.

    (and we're not buying Cleverley).

  • Welbeck to Arsenal done deal?

  • If I was spending £16m on something I would do it during office hours

  • Gary Neville's quote about doing business at the end of the day and organisation.

  • One decent season and....

    And?

  • reckon welbeck could do well at arsenal.

pretty mad the falcao thing. but fuck yeah it is gonna be an interesting season one way or another

  • vine.co/v/OBUpp7h0KKH

I thought that'd be West Ham with the porn barrons...Where is B&D?

  • Yes, all buys carry an element of risk but non of us have seen Welbeck play down the middle so surely this has a lot risk written all over it...£16M?

Wasn't wenger refereeing in Italy today?

  • Borini:

    You fucking little cunty shithouse

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Kept Poyet/Sunderland hanging only to head to qpr on deadline day. Then to demand circa £90K, you litle nobbler. Rot on the bench.
