Seeing as I'm still working through the morning editions, can someone jump to the latest news? Arsenal, have they signed a striker?

This is from our favourite paper. It's a positive piece on Liverpool which is as rare as Clive talking sense or me going to a game
3) Liverpool show they have spent windfall wisely
What a pleasure it must be for new players to join this Liverpool squad. They have to work hard, sure, and competition for places is increasingly high but, if they embrace the challenge, the rewards could be wonderful. When they play as they did for much of last season and again at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Brendan Rodgers’ team are exhilarating to watch and, for any player with a wholesome attitude, fun to be a part of.The early signs are that Liverpool have spent the Luis Suárez windfall wisely, as each of this summer’s recruits looks a worthy addition. It was suggested in the summer that Liverpool were destined to endure the sort of stuttering campaign that Tottenham Hotspur suffered after last season replacing Gareth Bale with several new signings but that was always a flawed comparison: because Liverpool is fertile ground in which to plant new players as, unlike Spurs last term, they are a club with cohesion and a vision. And they are gathering momentum. Paul Doyle

That's from the letters page isn't it? Tell me no one got paid for that badly written load of bollocks.
That breathtaking late on get out of jail against Southampton and the scintillating stuffing by Shity are signs of momentum? Suppose there was that win at Shite Hart Lane but lets face it, you won't be the only ones putting 3 past that shower this season.

Interesting part from Daniel Taylor's article perhaps explaining how Man Utd managed to secure Falcao despite other clubs being in more desperate need:
Yet United acted swiftly and decisively when Jorge Mendes, the agent representing Falcao, got in touch on Sunday. Mendes, whose other deals this summer include Di María, James Rodríguez, Diego Costa and Eliaquim Mangala, has struck up a strong relationship with Woodward, to the point of regularly texting him with family photographs. What followed, by modern standards, was an agreement of uncommon speed that demonstrates, again, United’s determination to spend their way back to the top of their sport.
I wonder if Falcao will tweet again about his 'dream move'.
"I've always wanted to be bullied by an arrogant, sour-faced prick, and to play alongside my heroes Anderson and Chris Smalling"

Falcao, Di Maria, Blind, Rojo, Herrera and Shaw should be an exciting set of signings for any club. That it still leaves concerns over the squad at United is fairly damning of the planning process over recent years.

Moutinho as well would just be madness...

Liverpool fans, talk about your own team, stop getting so fucking cocky.
Mancs and everyone else here were more than happy to dance on our graves when things were truly dire. Things are slightly wonky and you've been able to spend on: Mata, Di Maria, Falcao, herrera, shaw, rojo
Now you've had a tiny fraction of the shit that we had to take you're wetting the bed already?!GTF>>>
Also: fan"s"?
Exactly whom do you see as being cocky (beyond MikeC)? -

When is it okay to start feeling sorry for Man Utd? I still don't feel sorry for Leeds, but I do see clubs like Nottingham Forest and obviously Ipswich as teams who really should be playing at a higher level.
Isn't this the kind of thinking that people here aimed at lfc followers? That somehow (y)our history gives some kind of entitlement now?....even though none of us ever suggested such bollocks here?

I'll think you'll find that's been covered...

Young??
He's 26 you fucking belm
a bit harsh there @Chalfie seeing as Micah Richards hasn't played regular first team football in over what 2 years, and has gone from bright young thing, future of english fullbacks to overpaid reserve whose just kept on the books so City don't have too many foreigners.
Like his gumption in heading over to Italy to see what it's about (at time of writing I have no idea if the loan deal has gone through), dislike the knee jerk anger and belief that my posts are just regurgitated info. I post the source so if you want to read more you can. -

Good as long as you understand that all past tense now. We're all good.

Why always pick on the Ipswich fans? This is our year. Spirit of '61!

Honestly though, how did anyone think I was being serious when I included this paragraph?
Plus my first Merlin sticker album was 93-94, and Ipswich were in the Premier League then. Oldham, Swindon, Wimbledon and Coventry are also Premier League teams by right as well.
For a thread which is basically one big pisstake, people are very keen to take things very seriously indeed.

upset that Holtby's on his way to Hamburg, never really got a good shake of the stick playing in his preferred position, but with him going, we don't have any attacking cover, or a change of pace off the bench, apart from Lennon, Townsend, and Kane (and lets face it they don't put the fear of attacking god in anyone). I know Pochettinho is interchanging Lamela, Chadli and Eriksen in the no.10 position behind the striker, but only one of them has their finger on the pulse of that role right now and that's Eriksen.
Pity
