Marc Muniesa might have had something to do with it. Potentially a great little signing that.

TBH the Ukraine-based players deserve everything they get for choosing to play in some backwater shithole just for the money, see also: Russia-based players
Whilst I agree - there are also only a few leagues that young south american players can go to freely. Portugal being another.
Donetsk have been buying up Brazillian talent for 15 years now.I'd take Fred, Bernard and Douglas Costa.

If he ever fulfils his potential, that is. The last three or four seasons would suggest otherwise.

Mame Biram Diouf is a decent signing though, fancy him to score 10-15 goals.

Dunga?
They really are the LFC of world footie. They didn't see what everyone else could see was coming, churned up shit football prompting many to fall out of love with the famous yellow. They even failed to listen to Cryuff's constructive criticism and instead sent him loads of abuse questioning the fact he'd never won a world cup. And have now gone back to the world's angriest Brazilian. In other words: get the popcorn ready.

Or did it start going wrong when they took on standard english names?

Can he do it on a cold windy Tuesday in Stoke? He didn't really do it in Italy or Holland.

Transfer fee is undisclosed, but wonder if the premier leagues infatuation with everything foreign player needs to be gotten over. Isn't there any other young British striker that they could have taken a punt on. I know krkic isn't much over 23 and could get so much better but....

His stats are still pretty great for someone that's played for 4 teams in 4 years and spent most of it as a sub. For my mind he just needs to play regularly. I wouldn't have picked Stoke as the place to do it but Hughes did a good job with Arnautovic so who knows.
I'd wager him to score and great as many as Biram-Diouf this season. -

What english players out there have 5 years of Champions League experience and have played for 4 of Europe's top teams in 3 different countries and represented their teams at national level. And who would be available at I would imagine £3-5m?

Experience is one thing, scoring goals is another, he hasn't been the most prolific scorer of goals in his fledgling career, just because he's been around different leagues doesn't mean he'd fare any better than an equivalent age championship or league one striker...
I'd assume part of the reason for his availability and the low transfer fee is done to the fact he hasn't lived upto expectations, and hasn't scored as many goals as he possibly could have.
Don't get me wrong I'd love for him to do well, but there's a reason for his transfer to stoke, if he'd lived upto expectations teams above stokes standing would have been in for him. -

Atletico apparently want to bring Torres home and have offered Chelsea £15m. Chelsea are holding out for £20m, madness. They should put him on the first available plane and get him to sign on the dotted line before they change their minds.

"They used to apologise in training when they went in with a tough tackle on their team-mate. I'm not having that."
Poorly written headline

Mark Hughes has an excellent track record when it comes to coaching strikers. He got Krikic on the cheap with a sell on clause. I expect him to do a similar truck to Krikic as what he did with Santa Cruz.

From what I read below the line on teh guardian:
His head's gone. He's a confidence player and he needs an arm around him always.
As soon as the fatherly influence wanes, his head goes and he doesn't train so well. etc. and so on. -

Did they put a link underneath where you can put s bet on how many goals and assists he's gonna get next season?

Vorm confirmed, Davies pictured in a Spurs shirt (but not yet confirmed), Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez also on the way. Pretty happy with the Spurs transfer activity so far, provided it all comes through obviously. Siggy going isn't the biggest catastrophe, gutted about Sandro but I see the sense in moving him on. He will always be the Beast of WHL, but his injuries, inconsistency and form makes him the lesser (sorry, Sandro) of him and Schneiderlin.

You all sound like a bunch of Liverpool fans to be honestFucking hell! I think I actually agree with something mikec has said on here. I need to go for a lie down in a darkened room.
Again, you can't compare them like for like.
Southampton != Bayern
Real != Liverpool.
Different clubs, different players, different needs.
I'm sure if Liverpool could buy Kroos they would, but there is probably a handful of clubs that would give him more or equal chance of success than Bayern.
