I mean, he's exactly where he'd be if he stayed. On standby.
But his move wasn't about money. Was it?

• #102678
I'm sure to a certain extent it was about money, but playing time too.
But mostly about Drake.

Rickie Lambert - really? christ - what a state English football is in if he is our 4th best option.

Oh fuck.
The new Liverpool.Glad you enjoyed that.

So essentially England are going to the WC with 1 RB. I'd play Jagielka over Johnson at RB but for Walker and Clyne both to get overlooked seems quite harsh when you consider it's England's weakest position.World Cup thread is >>>>> way

Well that didn't take long... we've sacked Mel the day after the season finished.
Please, please, please don't hire Hughton or Dave Jones. They will be shit.

David Moyes.

I've heard from someone today that they're speaking to Koeman, again. This is the same person that told me that he was going to Swansea. He usually gets things right so I was surprised that Swansea offered Monk a permanent deal. Let's see if he's right this time around. He'll be a decent fit for your club. Out of necessity he's had to work with a lot of academy products at Feyenoord and has done tremendously well with them. 12 players of the preliminary WC squad have played under at him at Feyenoord at some stage of their careers.

David Moyes.
There's no chance he'll come to us even if we wanted him to.
He'll end up at Villa.
I reckon the only two out of the current list that look any good are MacKay and Laudrup.

The season has not yet finished, there is still the £120millon game.
£60million next season and £60million more in parachute payments.

I think that's a bit harsh on the guy - he outscored and performed plenty of more glamorous players this season. He might not be a Galactico but I'm glad he'll be in the squad (though I'd have preferred Jay Rodriguez).
I know it's not the world cup thread but I'm relatively pleased with the look of that squad. I'd have picked Nathaniel Clyne at RB over Smalling but I guess he one out for being 'versatile'

I thought Jagielka was mr versatile? Smalling is just shit to be honest.

And he never missed penalties, not that he'll get to take any mind.

Although I'm secretly hoping England face at least one penalty shootout. Phil Jones to take first pen.

13 goals and 10 assists in the season, despite a really slow start, would you prefer Andy Carroll?!
Good to see three Saints players there, think it would have potentially been four with Rodriguez inching out Wellbeck if not for injury, shame that it looks like 2 of them might not be ours by the time it starts...
-
• #102694
It would've been Lambert OR Rodriguez. Woy seems to like Welbeck for some unknown reason. Unfortunately there aren't any other players that he thinks he can all upon for the forward positions. How many English strikers have hit double figures in the EPL this season?

studger has hit some bad form of late
i can see him getting some stick for not scoring at the world cup -

Not that I give a shit about Ingerlund but leaving Cashley out is madness in my opinion...
Looking forward to Ingerlund getting knocked out in the group stage... Roll on the World Cup!
Madness? He has hardly played, is old , has let us down at previous tournaments and we have two good players instead.

We really, really, really need to recall Thorne for next season.
After the debacle of the last 18 months its pretty obvious we will sell him. God help us mate

Well said.
Th biggest joke of the squad is Glen Johnson. If you wanna stick a fiver on anything it should be how many calamities he is involved in. I'd be disappointed if he is still there next season.
I'd like to see Woy cut all ties with the golden generation that had too many managers in their back pockets and choose a side similar to that^^^, based on good young (with the exception of Gerrard) performers of this season. England's long overdue a change - let them try and play together in a major competition we've no prayer of winning.
My money's on Argentina. I reckon Brazil will choke badly.
