  • Moyes to Spurs? If this happens, I am out.

I can only hope and pray ;)

  • I'm a Manchester United fan and of all the names mentioned, Klopp, Van Gaal, Conte and Simeone seem the most favourable to me. Moyes' sacking hasn't surprised me. I don't lay all the blame on him. The board and fergie have to take some flack.

  • @Fly, wouldn't there be some sort of performance bonus clauses in Pardew's contract so they could extricate themselves if there isn't improvement season on season.
I should say I don't mind Pardew as a manager, think he's fighting a lost cause with the management and owner at Newcastle, and it would seem the players. Any reason why he's not playing Ben Arfa behind a striker and letting him do his thing, rather than trying to get him to track back and defend on the wing?

I'm not too sure about a clause. You would assume that Ashley, as a pretty successful businessman, would have put something in there. Not seeing too many options out there really. Who would come to Newcastle that was any better? To be honest, even more exciting would do!

On the Ben Arfa front. Worryingly, he was spotted leaving Newcastle airport prior to the game at the weekend. Official line is that he is injured. In reality, he has been shocking recently. Unfit and unwilling. I reckon he and Pardew have fallen out, and he is ergo as good as gone in the summer. If that is the case, the board won't be happy. Until this drastic dip in form, they might have been sitting on some profit in him. Now they will be lucky to get anything.

  • @ Sugoi, of those names mentioned not sure why any of them apart from Van Gaal would want to head over to Utd, most are in favourable positions with their clubs, have won or are challenging for the league title, are in a champions league spot for next season and/or are still in it this season, and have an emotional/historical attachment to the club they are managing..

Apart from the money and the lure of playing in football mad britain, why leave a good thing to take over a not so sure thing, where the manager who was given a six year deal has been booted 5 games before the end of the season. If as it has been mooted before this is a rebuilding job, how much patience and job security will there be if they fall short of the champions league next season?

Also heard mention of Ancelotti being in the mix, which would be intriguing...
And would Utd go for ex Liverpool manager Benitez to turn things around? If this came to pass it would be great to see Rafa and Mourinho going at it again, especially as Rafa would have the money (supposedly) to get into bidding wars with Jose over players...

  • benitez will be as welcome at old trafford as he was at the bridge

  • I pay unlimited money to see Rafa as United manager.

  • Although in fairness he'd probably guarantee a top four finish.

  • this

so glad football fans don't see logically at times

  • Woodward to be honest should go too, but this won't happen.

Rafa hasn't got a chance in hell.

  • I'm a Manchester United fan

    You poor lamb.

and of all the names mentioned, Klopp, Van Gaal, Conte and Simeone seem the most favourable to me.

    You're living in dream land.

  • Such a huge mistake to let Moyes clear out the backroom staff.

  • continuing where rob left off

  • So, Scottish manager takes over a great club, takes them into the shit, and then gets replaced by the loyal club servant.

Next step will be appoint an unknown French manager, in a dual manager role, then sack the other one. Later replace the French manager with a Spanish one, who is a tactical genius, but flawed in man management. Replace him with some useless English cunt for a year, then bring back Fergie for a year, and then finally appoint the right guy, after 20 years.

  • hehe

  • looks like we finally hit the panic button.

oh well, going to be an interesting couple of years.

  • i'm sure his life is pretty sweet in the ukrain .... oh hang on a minute
