  • fergie appointed moyes to block that last summer
he won't let thrushy come to his club

  • He's hardly in a position of influence now, is he?

  • United should've appointed Mourinho last summer. He alone has the barefaced chutzpah to replace Ferguson and break out from his shadow. Sure he'd have only lasted 2 or 3 years, but United would have won trophies in that time and made enough money to service the debt.

  • Moyes getting sacked throws the managerial merrygoround into full swing, and could put a spanner in the mighty spurs recruitment project.

If they want him Van Gaal will go to Manchester in a heartbeat, leaving us to try and find a replacement. Don't think Klopp would leave Dortmund right now, and Simone would be hard pressed to leave Atletico if they win the league and/or Champions League.

Wonder who Moyes will end up with when he comes out of hiding?

I think Spurs might go for De Boer

  • I think Spurs might go for Moyes.

Proven track record in achieving mid table mediocrity.

  • Tenderoni, would love for us to get De Boer, just not sure he'd come to us. Van Gaal is the one whose been making the most noise and up until Moyes was pushed onto his sword, we were the front runners to grab him. Now not so much..

  • I'd still have moyes over pardew... today.

  • Moyes at Newcastle might be an interesting move.

Fly is Pardew going to return next season or will Ashley opt for a cheaper option?

  • i can see that working for some reason

  • Apparently Giggs has turned down the offer of interim manager as he wants to spend more time with his brother's family.

Not so. He has already briefed the players:

'"The first thing I've got to say lads is that I don't mind at all if any of you bring your wives to training"

  • Rumour splash on the back page of the mirror that John Terry has been offered a one year extension from Chelsea on half of his 150k salary, cold blooded or sound financial decision making?

  • forcing him out without forcing him out
    keep the fans onside

he needs the $£$£$£$ to pay off his debts to shady characters
he'll go for the cash somewhere else

Corny, unfortunately i'm not sure if there is a cheaper option as getting a new manager in necessitates paying Pardew out of the remainder of his cushy 7 year contract.

We've had 5 defeats in a row (a club record in the prem era), were ousted from both cups nice and early without much of a fight and are slumping to an embarrassing league position if you consider that Stoke were 12 points behind us 6 weeks ago.

There is a lot of negative vibes between club and fans at the moment, but this doesn't seem to be translating into action. This may be because the media are concentrating on bigger stories at the moment. I would've thought they would have been having a field day in Newcastle at the moment, what with the terrible form and Pardew's brawling...

    To Spurs like Gallas?

No-one else will offer him that sort of money.

  • Moyes to Spurs? If this happens, I am out.

  • did someone mention up thread that Moyes is gone and because there was no league title, champions league spot or european football next season, they just pay out a year of his salary rather than the full five, bonus clauses and whatnot..

@Fly, wouldn't there be some sort of performance bonus clauses in Pardew's contract so they could extricate themselves if there isn't improvement season on season.
I should say I don't mind Pardew as a manager, think he's fighting a lost cause with the management and owner at Newcastle, and it would seem the players. Any reason why he's not playing Ben Arfa behind a striker and letting him do his thing, rather than trying to get him to track back and defend on the wing?

@Boodie, there was mention of a turkish club in for Terry, probably going to spend time with Drogba over at Galatasaray...

  • Mourinho will be the next United manager.

I have a feeling this might actually happen. What with Maureens recent histrionics, Hazard being tapped up and the massive nose dive their season has taken.

  • Let's face it, Maureen never looked too pleased about being back there in the first place.

  • @Boodie, there was mention of a turkish club in for Terry, probably going to spend time with Drogba over at Galatasaray...

Even the gone berserks aren't that stupid.

  • Why not wenger for utd? Bet arsenal would love to get rid and utd would be gratefull. Utd still have enough power to lure who they want unless the financial situation is worse than known.

  • Wenger, seriously, are you fucking mad?

  • I remember reading somewhere that their finances are in dire straits. The mortgages for their shopping mall portfolio are all leveraged against United and a lack of CL money might dump them right in the shit. Particularly if they have to spend a period of time rebuilding the squad.
