OK. We're up to some sensible-ish numbers here.

Let me find out what distilleries are best bets for this. I suspect that given the diversity of tastes from people here that it will require some careful selections.

Those numbers aren't bad (I know it's 2014 figures), about £470 each for 16 people and you get like 20 bottles each.. still in.

Suntory own a good chunk of the Scottish distilleries - as do the French (Pernod-Ricard) and the English (Diageo)

My old man did a cask buy on a Tobermory a few years back. I'd be interested to join if we're going for a Hebridean single malt.

Bourbon or rum would just kill us on the customs charges sadly. Both would be an excellent idea though

I'd love to be in on the whiskey thing, but I currently haven't acquired the taste for the malt thing.. OBviously I'll want to try some in ten years when it hits everyones glasses..

funds permitting, the thing to do is a yearly cask, after 10-12 years - all teh whisky

PS - I have some Botran 15 and some direct from source Mauritian rum at home now. Just waiting for a gap in shooting schedule.
