  • Oh it's alright frozen. Not massively into Highland malts anyway

  • Ok I'll try it frozen then, good tip

  • I quite liked it. Frozen it goes really oily and thick in the mouth, then as it warms up in the glass more and more honey and sweetness comes through, and a tiny bit of spice. You could get through this really quickly though, dead easy to drink

  • Amazon have got it at £18.99 as a lightning deal if anyone is interested linky

  • Ta. Just bought one!

  • Got a bottle of Bowmore Small Batch for crimbo.

For an Islay it is incredibly smooth. I'd of said it would of been a Speyside if I didn't have the bottle in front of me.

  • ^ I had some of that last Christmas and totally agree, for me it was like a Speyside of which I'm not a huge fan - was disappointed in it's un-Islay ness....

  • Digging in a bit tonight as I'm behind getting through what I had set aside for the Christmas break, and especially as I've skipped the Festive 500 and only doing the odd Regents HoP. I've stick the Dalwhinnie in the freezer so looking forward to that once I've made some headway here:

  • Got some Hibiki 12yr for xmas.

Will report back, pretty sure I've had it out before

  • invite me round for whisky night pls

  • Lag is the undoubted star of that ensemble

  • @youramericanlover no me !

    I'm a quiet drunk too :p

    Maybe whiskey + Archer re-runs

  • In.

Perfect evening! I can make a good old fashioned and have some Buffalo Trace for such purposes.

  • Did someone say whisky and Archer? Sploosh.

  • My thoughts exactly.

Finished the Nikka From The Barrel over Christmas. Really liked it and will get some more next time I'm at the airport.

Started on a bottle of Chichibu The First which is also very nice but I think it's a bit better with a drop of water.

  • Got a bottle of this for christmas:

A bit harsh due to it's youth but some nice caramel notes going on.

  • Whiskey Old Fashioneds and Archer sounds like a perfect evening.

Wish I was friends with you cunts.

  • Me and my neighbour got through most of this last night, very nice with water.

  • Total novice on Bourbon, am thinking about starting with Four Roses.

    Wild Turkey, Buffalo Trace later?

  • I'd start and end with Buffalo Trace, it's a good all rounder.

  • Four roses is not that great in my option. I'd recommend Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Maker's Mark as good starting Bourbons.

  • Woodford Reserve for sure

  • Buffalo Trace here too, for £18 in Asda it's unbeatable IMO
