Local Waitrose had 5 or 6 bottles of this reduced to £18.99, for no apparent reason, rude not to. Haven't sampled it yet but the reviews sound intriguing.

You would have liked it. We had a 'mystery' dram which was a virgin oak Glen Garioch. Like a sweet bourbon, and rather delicious. Apparently it goes on sale next month.

Could you explain this mystical SWC to those of us that can only imagine?

It's a private member's club in Old Compton St, with a massive selection of whiskies and a lovely quiet, secluded cigar terrace. They have regular tastings which are free for members.

It sounds fancy, would they put up with a scruff like me if I ever got down when one of you would let me in?

Went to Boisdale last night in Canary Wharf - whisky menu to kill for (and given it's mainly a steak restaurant, the vegan option is whisky). 18yr old Laphraoig is phenomenal.
