  • I want a pair of these so bad...got shimano 600ex but they are a pale imitation. These are just too much money.....HMMMMM Santa i have been really good this year!!!

  • quality brake pads ftw.

    Swiss Stop

  • Look better in the flesh!
No quick release though. But, if you set them up at the limit of the barrel adjuster, wheel removal should'nt be an issue.

    Do love to quote myself...

The quick release is on the lever for modern campy calipers. I meant no quick release on the actual caliper. So if, like me, you use a type lever other than an 'ergo' (I have a tekro TT lever) you lose the quick release function.

  • Check this thread for brake porn..
    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread1163.html.

I now feel reckless, riding with sub £500 brakes, what a fool.
I can only pray that my skimping does not leave my family without a provider.

  • OK... I reckon it's looking like 105's with Swiss Stop pads... that should leave me with enough change to get a Phil Wood 18T I've got my eye on and a couple of bottles of Old Peculiar while I'm fitting them. Flowers Of Romance playing in the background and that's me sorted while the wife's watching the Strictly Come Dancing crimbo special ;-)

  • Beautiful; but not very good. Very unpopular with the pros.

Heretic. The secret of Deltas is to get them set up properly, i.e. with the pads further away from the rims than you'd normally have them. The modulation then is good and not the binary on/off that happens if you have them too close to the rims.

  • Terrifying actually, I had a pair about 10 years ago and they were rubbish for stopping and weighed a ton, but were so shiny and beautiful. Ah... memories

Well, I wasn't speaking as a pro, only repeating what i've read. They are heavy though aren't they? 3kg each I read.

  • They are brilliant for stopping, that's their core strength. What they weren't so good at was modulating speed, i.e. when feathering the brakes.

    There is a total anorak article here;

I've a pair in my bike bits box, waiting to go on the right frame. And I've two 3.5 mm allen keys.

  • I Just got this:

  • I would go for Shimano 105. Or Dura-Ace if you have the cash.

  • Fugly:

Matter of opinion. I like them. I wonder if they'll have a black version though?

  • "Campagnolo's fanatical devotion to aesthetics."

"the first year's production run was a disaster--the cable clamping mechanism would fail, and the brakes would of course stop working!"

"for some unknown reason, Campagnolo's engineers decided to use a 3.5mm screw in that spot. We dare you to try to find a 3.5mm allen key."

"They work, and they will stop you, but not with the sheer stopping power of dual pivots. We're a little nervous using them on steep, technical descents, but the style points gained by having them on the bike outweighs those concerns."

Fucking Campag lovers.. "does my hair look nice as I plough into this tree?" :-)

Fuck, I've hardly got any hair left. What am I to do? ;-)

3.5 mm allen keys are readily available on ebay btw.

  • very light - from Clee Cycles

damn they are nice, but my current project doesnt justify such a tech brake or 170quid on a caliper

  • they sell them as singles!

  • link?

  • ...they said they would sell a single in black for £90!

  • Nice!
sure they do them, and if you google it appears they were listed at some point on there site just that particualr catalogue page isnt showing for me.
still not justifiable for my current project
