  • So I had a couple of hours at Hemel the other night....a sketchy first couple of runs then it all started to come back to me...really looking forward to this weekend in France!

One other thing....turns out I've lost loads of weight since I last wore my snowboard jacket and it's huge on me....... it's quite a few yeards old now, but a really nice jacket - Sessions Gore-tex

If anyone is in the opposite situation and has something smaller they might like to swap with...let me know.

Mines Large, but I think it's a US large so probably XL.... guess I could do with a medium/large.

Not looking to sell ..... swap if I can, if not I'll live with it....

  • has to be halfpipe no? westbourne park not exactly central but i bet they have them in and its at least rider owned/run. bikes upstairs too http://www.halfpipelondon.com

That's 'my' shop, the owner and pretty much everyone that works there rides.

  • Let me know if you're gonna be there at the same time IndraRipper. Would be good to have more people to ride with!

  • having a debate with myself do I go up the mountain for 2 days but on my own. It's fun, but then shit boring in the evening alone (cabin is miles from anywhere so can't just nip for a beer)

I would say yes, Kirth, definitely. If I had a cabin in the mountains, I'd be there most (every) weekend.

It's looking less likely now that my Dad's knee op has been postponed but will let you know if we end up coming.

  • Anyone here ridden in scotland?

  • Yes, years ago. I remember hopping over patches of earth and heather in the runs. Short, exposed runs with strong winds that scrape the snow off and frequently close the resorts. Would not recommend unless it's only an hour or two away and you can pick good snow days.

From the South East I can't see any reason to go to Scotland over Europe.

  • Leaving St Anton right now through a massive snow dump. 10cm plus fell in the village overnight and it's still snowing so must be loads on the slopes, on top of a healthy dump on Friday. The lower off-piste areas had no base so might get bare again quickly but the higher slopes will be glorious.

It looks like Arhlberg will be a good choice for a last minute deal next week.

    Went there, got some Lexa's.
Not an expert by any means, but compared them to the ladies Unions they had there. They just seemed better, construction, materials, finishing, feel.

I dunno. Men's unions seems to be worlds ahead of womens.

  • So just get mens in small? (next time :) )

  • That could be possible, unions come up quite small compared to other bindings.

  • bah too late. Plus been told to go womens however.

  • sucker for marketing b/s :) at certain times during the month i often think you lot are a different species but the last time i checked, mrs goods had two feet and her ergonomics are exactly like mine. in fact, she rides my old rome artefact peep show with the matching rome 390 bindings...i used both...and she shreds the absolute shit out of it!

*soz..only pics of her with the board i could find. i don't think this chick specific stuff means anything.

  • at certain times during the month you were probably told to shut it! ;)

been riding men's bindings since i started. compromised because I was beginner/intermed....But now that I've graduated, want some decent stuff...

recently, even the mens smalls which were on my rental pow board were just too big. (I'm a UK4)
They got high backs. I got short legs and need shorter backs. woe is me.

Can't wait. Fly Thurs. Chamonix is covered...

  • Hah! I get that all month. Fair cop - UK 4 a stretch. Le Tour and Argentiere FTW! If the snow is really good get a guide and do the VB. Is actually worth it.

  • Saw this on the whitelines page yesterday, collarbone injuries suck. Hope he's back riding soon.

  • Can't blame the course for that one though - that was just a fuck up.

  • the flying tomato pulling out of slope style...mahoosive lol! gutless, waste of a place on the team.

  • Long shot but does anyone have any medium female bindings for sale? Want a relatively decent pair but budget is also tight, so second hand seems best bet.

  • BOOM! JJ for the win!

  • I went for a 3 hour lesson at Hemel yesterday. It was totally awesome and I can't wait to go properly on Friday.

    Obviously, I was totally amazing......

But seriously, by the end I was linking turns to the bottom of the big training slope (about 3/4 length of main slope) so according to the instructor, I can technically snowboard. I even have a bit of paper that says I can. I imagine first day in France I'll forget everything I learned.
