Would be nice! My mate Matt went to whistler 5 years ago to do a season and never came back so I could possibly stay at his. Gutted I've used all my holiday allowance until April.

I'm there early April for just over a week I think. Wish I could just go there for 5 years.

Good trip but really painful. Sadly we had no snow, it was all ice, apart from the 4 or 5 pistes with artificial snow. Last snow was 5th March so it was all pretty compacted. Engleberg is awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're sure there will be snow.
Went from being fully solid on greens on the last trip to being medium consistency on reds and, "Fuck me this so steep, I'm heel edging my way down this!" blacks. I avoided the mogul spec yellow run down from the very top.
Had a bit of a shit 1st half of my 3rd day where I was sure I was riding wrong foot forward, and the more I thought about it, the more it exacerbated my issues with steep turns. But then I put it aside and I had a better afternoon and then I had to stop around 14:00 on my fourth and final day as my glutes were so fucked and tight, I couldn't even reach down to do up my bindings or get up from a sitting position.
The Nike SB jacket was immense, really pleased I bought that, thanks for everyone's input on jackets. I need to take armour next year.
My borrowed Forum boots turned out to be 2.5 sizes too big so I rented some boots and that made a huge difference. Nobody noticed that my borrowed bindings had been set up with no forward lean until the 4th day and that was a noticeable difference even when moving them one notch.
Steep learning curve as ever, but I think I'm doing OK for 7 days in total over 12 months.

Sauze d'Oulx - amazing if you get a big dump. Those top sections are pow sniffers dream.
We had a blue sky week with the snow coming down on the last day. Apparently it's amazing now.I took the garmin, seems I maxed speeded down at 74.9km/h
Not bad...I can do better though. The olympic womens black runs in San Sicario are amazing.

Look at that toebox! I love these also - you know why! They're great soft boots, forgiving flex...perfect jib boot...but if you wear them with capstraps, they fuck up a bit on the toe mudguard seam. These are mine after one wear. Kaiju's after many wears - amazing. The lunarendors are light and built incredibly strong...indestructable, but don't have the same look about them.

Think one of the Helgason's has nailed one also. Billys looks rather steezless. I'd rather see a huge stylee straight air.

I can't believe Max Parrot's a pro snowboarder:

I'm so much better than him, I pulled the world's first 'Nessie Arm' Indy just last week:

Yes :)
My aim this year is to save mad money in the autumn and just go on as many trips as possible.
So far have confirmed Laax at New Years, been invited to Niseko by Mel and her lot at some point too.

Damn you; but yes to mands, sounds rad! I've confirmed late season loving in Slovakia and La Joue du Loop March & April respectively, the two cheapest options. However planning some Rocky Mountains action over January. Any recommendations for resorts that aren't Whistler? I.e Kicking Horse, Heavenly...?
-

Big white has the maddest pow, can be cheaper than other resorts, is rarely as busy and has a rad park. Downside is it's a ball ache to get to. Ldn-yvr then yvr-kelowna flight and a ~2 hour drive.
So worth it though.
Me and Jess are kicking around the possibility of late Feb trip to whistler if we can get it cheap enough, not looking likely though :(

A friend is getting married in Toronto on New Years Eve and we're going out there for a fortnight and considering taking our boards.
Doubt we'll be able to afford a trip all the way to Vancouver - anyone have any recommendations of resorts a bit closer to Toronto, Canada or US, that might have good snow at that time of the year?
-
• #1198
That does sound a bit ball-achey, though if we hired a car, a little road trip adventure could be sweet!
In honesty, anywhere in Canada is probably good enough. Let's organise a trip!
