  • Yep, Simoncini's* look* lovely (i've never ridden one though), and of course the 'artisanal' side of things is very appealing. I might take a crash course in improving my Italian with a strong emphasis on bicycle buying...

  • I live in France and speak passable French but I would not feel comfortable spec'ing a bike in a language I don't think in! too many variables, too much that can go wrong!

  • Are those Simoncini prices up to date ? They look quite cheap. Very tempting

  • Ok that's a little the Japanese, the Itallians, and the UK based manufacturers done. Where do US based manufacturers stand in all of this? Where would 953 sit in your frame desires?:

  • with all the currency/commodity changes then anything made in the U.K. out of reynolds steel is probably better value. it's no longer $2 to £1.

i know somebody who yesterday put their name down on the vanilla bikes list, hopefully the £ will be worth more by the time he gets his frame.

  • is the vannila list open again? He closed it a while ago as it was so long. I put my name on the waiting list to be told when the waiting list was to be opened again.

  • Haha, are they really that good?

my nagasawa back on ebay (reduced the starting price)

  • errr. DO NOT SELL

  • waaaay to high to start - doubt anyone is willing to buy it at that price.

Better to break apart and sell separately - (also give it a bit of a clean!)

  • that's only rough looking frame mind... needs a re-spray.

  • Split it.
    Sell me the frame.

  • Cor blimey just put that through an exchange rate converter:

    1200 Euro = £1052.19

    Lovely bike and good luck.

  • Actual cost to me:
    F &f £650
    Wheels £268
    Bars £35
    Stem £20
    Chain £20
    Cranks £120
    Pedals £72
    S/post £30
    Tyres £42
    B/tape £7
    Cog £10
    Total £1274

So asking price very fair IMHO.

  • Beautiful bike, but I doubt you'll get that price in todays financial climate. Splitting it will give you the best chance of getting some of your money back. And on that note sell me the wheels (or just the hubs).

  • thanks for that. i might consider splitting actually... rear end is 110 so you'll need a 110 keirin hub like the phil wood i have on it...

  • ok, in fact, i will split it. i'd take £700 (or nearest offer) for the frame/fork (with headset and bottom bracket). cheers

  • fiddy, just bought a frame in perfect nick for 650

  • it's a PiNK nagasawa...

    offers to joschz@gmail.com
    thanks

  • harking back to the earlier argument on this thread back in December, isn't 3Rensho equally as good as Nagaswawa. And also, as keirin riders aren't sponsored wouldn't every racer be sitting on a nag if they were the best NJS bike? (i'm bored at work.. anyone else? know any good websites to look at that aren't porn... ps cutethingsfallingasleep.org is good)

  • I don't want to sound like a complete noob/ idiot but....was vitus steel tubing renowned for being strong and lightweight??
Or is it just like any other standard track tubing?

  • frame in perfect condition, WTF? that frame is rough, chips, stratches, decals coming off.

  • I saw that in Paris few months back but it's not worth £1,050(minimum) - so I'm assuming he wants atleast £1,300/1,400?

You'll need a lot of luck mon ami!

  • You don't need Phils, I have 110mm Dura Ace on my Bridgestone.
Nice bike, but spec is not that different to mine and it cost nowhere near that to build?
    Good luck.
