HAHA no.

no?! Melcher may not be to everyone's taste in terms of style but if he dressed and looked differently and maybe dropped some of the affectations people would shit themselves for him. There's some incredibly clever stuff in there - that's what skateboarding should be.
Check out the powerslide to double pole jam (?) at 2:20 - genius.

Fuck what he looks like, that part was amazing!

^+1 Who cares if he is a bit unorthodox, the stuff hes throwing down is far more interesting than yet another kid hammering a 20 stair rail, he clearly has some impeccable board control.
Edit: Just watched it again, how the hell does he manage to wallride that metal mesh handrail support?

Hey guys/girls,
Been skating for ever, but haven't had much chance in the last 6 years, in the last 3 I think I've been out only a couple of dozen times. Have two boards at work trying to get people to come out skating with me but no luck :(If any of you fancy a skate, even just down Mile End skatepark etc, give us a shout. Could do with just sessioning some flatland, small rails and maybe a mini ramp etc to get back into it. Couple of games of skate should do the trick ;)
Anyway, if any of you are skating out Hackney way, or in the winter at some indoor skateparks (is there really only the playstation park in london?) get in touch.

Oh shit yeah, totally forgot about that, I saw it being built (on blogs) but it then slipped my mind.
I fancy going to Mile End before it gets too wet, might bring my board home tomorrow if anyone fancies a quicky over the weekend? -

Find friends sections like that a lot more interesting than regular parts tbh, but if we are talking video parts id still rather watch trent mcclung sw backside flip a 20 stair.

I think it depends on whos doing it really. What I was getting at is that there are so many video parts now with kids throwing down huge stair sets, but they seem to lack style. For me skateboarding has always been as much about flow and style as it is insane gaps. Having said that, what really bores me is when you get video parts of some guy doing technical flips into and out of grinds on 2ft ledges and nothing but.
To each his own though I suppose -

Sorry to post twice in a row n all, but Ive just been reminded of an idea Ive been mulling over for a while now.
Would anyone be up for helping me to organise an actual Skate ride? A combination of a social ride with a skate sesh (or seshes in this case). The idea being to try and get in as many of Londons famous spots as we can in a day (using the bikes to get from spot to spot) then finish up in a pub to nurse our wounds etc. -

This has to be a repost...

To each his own though I supposeFair, thats why I liked bert wootons part in cosmic vomit so much. But on the subject of style, Id say its harder to have good style skating rails than the now usual 'cali schoolyard 50-50 wallie' type of skating thats now super popular.

Yeah this is what I was thinking with asking here. We could mix skateboarding and cycling! Should have really come up with this at the start of summer :)

-
• #347
Yep I'm in, I'm sat at my work desk now with my feet on my board :)

• #349
That would be cool for me, though I think we should do something on a regular basis? There is a huge carpark at the Matalan in Dalston that is perfect for the semi retired who wanna try get back into it!

One other thing, where can I find a pair of the first gen fury trucks? Best I ever had.
Is anyone looking to trade some trucks and wheels (mine) for a deck (yours)?
