Skated with him regularly when he was like 10-11 yo (before anyone has video or even pics of him) as we had one of the first metal mini ramps in UK built by our council and he got driven down from Oxford to Wendover all the time. He was fucking unbelievably good already.

After a morning hanging out at a local skatepark with my daughter, I've got the itch to get skating again (after a 15+ years hiatus. and i was shit to begin with). Where should i start with acquiring an inexpensive but inshit set-up? (preferably a blank deck)
I'm totally out of the loop regarding who's making decent stuff these days. last time I knew anything about skating, Welcome To Hell had just come out.

I had a quick ride of a mates board which was 8.5” - felt too wide for me, so I might go for an 8” (which is what I vaguely recall I used to ride). Unabomber complete for 50 quids at rollersnakes seems an alright deal? No idea what the trucks are like, but I’m sure it’ll do me for now.

I’m pretty sure I’ve lost everything I used to be able to do. I could just about Ollie when I had a quick go on Sunday, which was a little depressing, but that’s only after about 5 mins skating this millennia I guess.

Looks like a fun project

Skating in the late 90s felt like women were on a path to gain equal parity with men in the sport with the likes of Elissa Steamer. Grand Royal magazine ran an article on female skaters. This current trend of female pro skater/ fitness model seems a retrograde step to me. Are there any ladies who follow this thread?
