Take care whatever you end up doing, your life and rationale are more important than anything on here.
Apart from fast cars, obviously...

I prefer to see them as aspirational role models.

Chiz.Given the choice, my parents would not have picked me.

Given the choice, my parents would not have picked me.
I'm sure that's not true...

I'm sure that's not true...
Nah, I've met him, it is.
My mother once told me that, given the choice, she'd have had a girl rather than me. Which is doubly hurtful as anyone who has met me will understand.

Scott, you seemed like a really nice bloke when I met you at Easts, hope you'll still turn up there occasionally.
I've found this incidentally if anyone would like to redress the balance go and talk bikes on a car forum. They have a whole subsection. http://pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&f=174

didn't i already do that joke?
Now that you point it out, I guess you did. To be honest, I thought you were referring to the OP with that comment. Thought it was a bit harsh...

tch.
keep up.

Now I'm not one to comment, mainly because I'm new(ish) and don't know the general intricacies on intra-forum dynamics, but I think it's a shame that's Scott's gone because I liked his general shoutiness. I particularly admire him for a long, drawn out defence of Brooklyn Machine Works in general, and the Gangster frame in particular. It went: Forumenger: 'I don't like the slack angles' Scott: 'But they're [insert expletive] ace: well made, ride fierce, great integrity, always pushing the boundaries of bike design, and they're just darn nice bunch of guys' Forumenger: 'But Pharrel's got a stealth one with **two **arrospoks' Scott: 'well Pharrell is very good at checkers (see below), but BMW are great guys, brilliant build quality, integrity, experimental design, plus you get a free milkshake with every bike, and a sock' Forumenger: 'But I don't like the slack angles' Scott: 'but you could ride this bike to the moon and back its so practical, and well made......"
Rinse and repeat. At the end all I could think about was how to get my hands on a BMW Gangster and I still really want one. In peach.
Well that's my fond memory. Good luck with the bags Scott

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the people who have posted words of support...not just people i know but also several PM's from people i don't know...it means a lot.
@jimmy fingers...just to clarify...i never used any expletive in relation to Pharell...i have nothing but respect for the way he's helped out Joe at BMW and kept completely out of the running of the company...but i'm glad you like the gangsta :)
And whoever felt it necessary to tag the thread 'self indulgent bollocks'...i'm sorry you feel that way.
That was one of the hardest posts i've ever made...at a time when i was really down...and covers subjects that are really important and personal to me.
I simply wanted to apologize for and explain my recent behaviour...and i'm not one for trying to mask the truth, be it personal or not....believe me,there was nothing self indulgent about it...i didn't ask people to post words of kindness or support, i just wanted to explain a few things.
If you truly feel it's self indulgent bollocks then why not post it under your actual name and i'd be happy to discuss it further with you...or...you could just continue to hide behind your computer screen like too many people seem to.Thanks again for the kind words everybody!

I hav'ent posted on this thread thus far. Simply because I did'nt feel that I had anything to contribute, that had'nt already been said already. I also did'nt really feel it was any of my business.
This seems a bit harsh though.
And whoever felt it necessary to tag the thread 'self indulgent bollocks'...i'm sorry you feel that way.
Dont know you Scott or much of the background to this, but fair play to ya, for being so honest.

Well I do have ambitions to be a tabloid hack so didn't check my sources and instead meant for the most sensationalist angle. I withdraw the statement (see above). I was one of those forumengers saying 'it's a bit slack' but your tenacity won me over. Tenacity (and loyalty) are worthy traits and should remain here in the forum(s)
