Scott
Yesterday I almost posted something along the lines of "FFS isn't this a cycling forum?" on that thread but as it was already many pages long could not be arsed to read through to make sure that no one else had done so already.
Considering other threads on here I doubt anyone would have been deeply upset by what you said. But as with so much of the playground mentality shown here, once people realised you were riled they decided to push a little further.
Your contributions to the forum are well considered and you can argue your case so elegantly, so please continuing contributing to the site.
We can all occasionally be grumpy sods and I salute you for your acknowledging an off day so publicly.

@ pistanator Yep, if you go to that thread, umm it was the BNP one, the previous post from BMMF said 'I've had enough of this shit, bye'. Then that^ was the last one from him.

Nope.
http://www.londonfgss.com/post386060-280.htmlAnd it has to be said, Scott's not really flounced, more a pretty normal 'Bye'.

mate, you are an ace guy regardless of what is written in heat or not. Thank you so much for your generosity, (rode my camera bag again today, still feels snug) your support of the many comps, prizes and for being a very very good egg. Your an extremely generous man, too generous by far. Ok now go make some money outta those wicked bags and stop giving them all away in 2009.

Scot- I have purposely not read the car thread. I was hoping it was a joke but apparently not. Bummer. Whatever you said was probably valid, if it's something like "WTF is a car thread doing on a bike forum".
But regardless of all of this, you are amongst the people who have made this forum more than a forum but an active community of people with like minds who care about and support each other. Along with that means standing against things that come into the community which you believe shouldn't be. Not only do you have that right, but I would go as far as to say you/we have that responsibility.
Something this good takes care and involvement. Sometimes that means putting your foot down.
(now I guess I have to go read the car thread). -

ahh fuck. Was that the last of BMMF then? I was wondering where he had got to recently.

This forum needs people like you.... -

Scott; take a break, it'll do you good, but do come back. You're a brave, honest and intelligent bloke.

Is this the first official, recorded flounce?
You've got to be joking. You flounce every time a scouse joke is cracked...

I think your book's arrived Will, thanks. Note to go and collect it from the sorting office arrived today.
I've had to chastise the domestic staff. -

+1 to all the sentiments Scott - i think you have done more for this forum and the fixed community in London than you will ever realise!

Scott, there's not much I can add to what's been said above.
I guess from my point of view, roxy's post sums it up reasonably well.
Good luck for the future, and stay in touch with us. -

@ Platini; Hope you enjoy it mate. Nothing like other people's hardship to get you through xmas.

Scott. A wonderful and strong post. Good luck and keep going.

In that picture you build of people you don't know except by what they write on here, I figured Scott not Scott mostly had useful and funny things to say. Being a newb myself I can't comment on how lfgss is going to the dogs, but I too was getting a bit uneasy about that petrolhead thread, like, OK, so it IS cool to talk about motors. It seems as if it should be retitled Petrolheads Out Yourselves Here.
I don't really mind it. I had a look at a few posts and realised it wasn't for me. My guess is when they've all spent their "Yeah, Porsche Boxter FTW" comments it'll go the way of almost all threads. but it's still weird, methinks. No harm in Scott saying "enough!"
And of course I drive a car. I just don't get my rocks off in one and haven't since I was about 21. I sincerely believe that Clarkson is the anti-Christ (speaks analagously).
Edit: But I do realise Will didn't set out to do a Clarkson.

Those stains on the roof-lining suggest otherwise...

Well, that's a relief. My view of the car thread is that's it's a sort of quarantine ward.

I was surprised to see how many spoilt rich bastards we are sharing the forum with. :-(

I prefer to see them as aspirational role models.
Ha, is that for real?
