  • Mmcarthy will proclaim that his favourite is some ancient Lotus constructed entirely of string and cardboard.

Therefore it will probably have to remain open.

  • Lol. Although lack of posts = lack of rights...

It has been some time since we had one of Chapman's designs on here.

  • All the ones you can actually drive weren't really designed by him.

  • My mum had a 993 targa back in the day, but in red
had the wing on the back too

  • Nice shelf for your pint.

  • Nice shelf for putting her handbag down while she spent 10 minutes looking for the keys.

    ftfy

  • Never really understood that about women. Why reach your destination and then look for your keys? At least make an attempt to look for your keys when you're at your last stop instead of being stood rummaging around in some cavernous handbag instead of looking like a gynaecologist on an overworked lady of the night...

  • Money no object it's a 993 GT2, followed by 964 Carrera RS, but I'd settle for either a 964 or 993 Targa.

  • Chris Harris reckons the current 3.8RS has a better wing for these sorts of things than the current 4.0RSR because the 4.0's wing is at 9 degrees of attack rather then 7. Oh and I think the price difference is in the 3.8's favour ;)

    Interesting..

I remember when these used to fetch 120K+. Perhaps in investment car for those so minded.

  • Oh.

And I remember posting this sale from Gmund sometime early/mid last year.

Time perhaps to make an offer.

  • They don't accept pickled livers.

  • 993 is my favorite car of all time

I'd rather have one of these than any 911

  • Any 911? Seriously?

If you owned one of those you'd never go anywhere. Agonisingly unreliable and notoriously expensive to maintain and run.

    Evolution of the beetle please...

  • As much as I LOVE the V8 I think you could wait a year to buy it, and put the money saved from maintenance towards a decent 993.

  • I'd rather have one of these than any 911

This + many. 911s are natural selection for coked up 80's city boys with red braces.

  • Those are best left to Timothy Dalton.

The new Aston's are unfortunately the weapon of choice for bankers now.

  • To be honest James May ruined that car much more efficiently than Timothy Dalton when he did that little wank piece a couple of years ago where he compared it to a pint of ale.

  • I do much prefer the older Aston's to those of today.

The new ones seem all gong and no dinner.

  • We should go round to May's house on Thursday evening after Wests and tell him so.

  • There is a guy who works at Goldmans (I think) with a V12 vantage number plate : 007 spy or something to that effect.

Porsche is the marque of choice for the officionado.

  • There are many, many cars that I would take over a Porsche given the rarefied air of the corner of the car market that 911s are supposed to inhabit they are too easily obtainable IMO

  • Entry-level collectors items...

  • We should go round to May's house on Thursday evening after Wests and tell him so.

    You have his address?
