is that the oil pressure?
-
• #9103
No oil pressure gauge, so no idea about that actually- it's apparently a bugger fitting an oil pressure gauge to these engines, one would be handy as oil starvation (on track) will kill them.
Those figures are boost pressure- my little turbo would just blow hot air at a higher pressure than that, which would need a larger IC to deal with.

is that the oil pressure?
lol.
What turbo are you running? For some reason I thought you had a large Garrett under the bonnet.
-
• #9105
Nope, it's a little Mitsubishi TD04-HL 16T.
When that goes pop then a GT2876 will fit in rather nicely.

not sure if serious....

Accompanied by a new larger exhaust I should think? Wouldn't your current exhaust housing be too small for the 2876?
...followed by a LONG time remapping to reduce lag if your gonna go .86. Would pull like a mad man when sorted though.

Been doing things in stages, so far:
- Head is ported/flowed
- Cylinder liners shimmed
- H-beam rods
- Forged pistons
- Larger throttle body/MAF
- 3" downpipe/100 cell race cat
With a better intercooler and (maybe) WI it'll run a consistent 330 bhp, up from todays 300.
With the smallish Garrett it'll run ~400, but yes- spool will be around 1,000 rpm later I would think.

i.e. you suspect Skully of being a massive retard and unable to park a grownups vehicle?
prove me wrong...
;)
Oooh I missed this you pair of twunts...
+1 for a Kangoo. I've used a couple of them and they're great cars. My dad presently has a kangoo van as a parts-getter. It's the second one we've had and I'm still impressed. The 'car' version is supposed to be even better.
@Skully - Skoda Yeti. A bit like Ann Widdecombe - as tough as old boots with looks to match. Big inside and plenty of room to transport small people (and all the crap which is necessary) as well as bicycles.
I'd have one tomorrow.
Can't afford a yeti. They're too new for 2nd hand bargains just yet. But I drove one last summer and liked it OK. Looks like I'm having a Skoda roomster. From a forum person, no less. Suitably dorky-looking for me. But it drives nicely.

Roomster/Yeti - same difference. Good luck Sir.

Tyres- I need some new ones.
I have been running Toyo Proxe T1R's, 215 45 17 W.
The front two are Savallased on the inside edge, and one at the back is FUBAR- so I would have to get 3, at (currently) £263.07 delivered from Camskill.
Or, I could get 4 Falken 452 delivered for £312.
Or- something else entirely?

• #9112
Yokie Cokies or Good Year Eagles.
-
• #9113
Yoko's and Eagles are the same price at Camskill- £413 for four, delivered.
I'd prefer to spend less than that if possible.

falken ftw, awesome tyres regardless of price

Better tyre overall than the Toyo?

I've got 452s on the back of the BMW. Smoke machines. Good grip too. Been impressed with the SP9000s on the front, but then you would hope so when one SP9000 costs the same as TWO 452s!
Been driving the girlfriend's Karmann Clipper around again today. Had to granny it to the tuner in Colchester but I got to cut loose on the way back. Chump in the A5 gave up after 110 and the 5 lengths I'd pulled on him.
Weber is still not running perfectly, have ordered new fuel pump, tuner says it's running lean right at the very top, he's not happy with the flow rate.

Erm. Dammit.
I'll be getting Cooper tyres on the 18"s when I get them.
Although 4x4 tyres for me I understand Cooper to be the highest sales aftermarket tyre brand in the USA with a purported 70-80% of the market share.
Now I know Americans are thick as two short planks but some of them must know what they're doing.
I have no idea what their sports tyres are like, but may be a company worth looking in to.... From the ones I'll be getting they are reasonably (although not cheap) priced.

&v=X3smGsB6jYsThis car is the opener for all the 'Tuned' videos on the Drive network. I thought it was a teaser from an episode they were to show later on in the season. Been looking forward to it, and now, you come to me with THIS? I had no idea it was from ST,.

Jon, I've got Cooper Cobras on the Plymouth. They're OK, not that I've ever really troubled them. It did rain once while I was driving, but it was on a long, empty and rather straight road.
Cheap!

I have coopers on my Merc - decent enough but definitely nearer the cheap and cheerful end of the market
Just had a text from the chap who looks after my car, he's set it to run 15 PSI to 3,400 rpm, then 20 PSI to redline "so it doesn't drive like an old diesel with all the torque at once".
