  • Good spot - Southern Cali and garaged for a long time. There's a propshaft loop which will link the 2 sides together that's not in yet.

On another note, my chum's Mustang is finished and should be going in a crate soon. Our chum in LA says it's an absolute BEAST, we're waiting for him to shoot some video and send it over....

  • Jung, it looks great. What is it (sorry haven't been paying attention).

I am in a strange car situation. I haven't had one for nearly two years - been no need in London really, and when my last one died I've just been using the Mrs' Punto (on which I'm a named driver). But after 2 years, I think my No Claims Discount (considerable at 9 years) expires. So I'm thinking of getting something to keep that going - and just cos I fancy a car... is this ridiculous? Don't want anything too nice, as have no garage. Old estate might be useful...

  • Olly, it's a 1963 Plymouth Fury.

You want my Golf? Its not a bad car- not sexy either, but fucking useful (unless you try and transport Dammit's bed)....

  • If your buying something cheap it'll be well worth it as the amount of money you'll end up paying your first year after loosing the NCP will be catastrophic, especially if you suddenly need something whilst living in London. I for example saw a £400 drop from 0 NCB to 1 NCB and am expecting a similar drop next time I insure.

Financially it's a sound idea. Just don;t buy a pup.

  • Cheers for the advice PF. 'Brows, I'll have a think, cheers for the offer. You posted about it recently, non? Where are you these days?

  • Yep its just upthread.
I'm in London, though going on a wee holiday to Scotland Friday (probably).
    Let me know.

  • I've got a new ride, bitches. 2003 turbo hatch, ****ing Never Lose edition. .

    O Rly? Srsly?

    Pimpin

If you want a car for the sake of it then cool, but if you would prefer to avoid all the costs of ownership couldn't you insure your mrs' car for her when it needs renewing? Dunno if the policy holder has to be the registerd keeper though. You could alternate each year.

  • Good shout but I didn't think of that when she had to renew, and now too late. So now I might have to scratch the car itch.

  • Get a cheap banger and if it breaks bin the piece o crap.

  • got engine all back together tonight. fired first go and after a bit of grumpyness and lifter ticking it all calmed down and now purrs like a kitten.

however, gearbox not engaging or circulating fluid. looks like i didn't engage convertor on pump splines and most probably smash the pump centre. yay!! gearbox now has to come out and learning time on auto's. supposedly relatively easy thing to replace. stupid cars!

  • Ahhhh what a frigging pain in the arse. I did the same years ago with a mate re-installing a 727. There's 2 shoulders that the converter has to slide over to line up and we only got one. Fortunately he noticed it before we fucked the whole thing up.

Just as a quick aside, did you fill the converter with fluid before you put it in?

  • If anyone here is interested in or knows anyone who might be interested in buying my Porsche 944S2 please send me a PM. :)

Pour it through a filter or musling mesh as it'll only be big bits.

  • I have (since seeing one on the way to Aram's) developed a desire for a BMW Z3M Coupe:

  • Always liked them too. And these,

  • Always liked them too. And these,

2002 Turbo? or ti or tii?

  • Anti-porn >>>>>>>

  • Wanna sell me one of your beemers? :)

Isn't there a thread that needs merging?

2002 was an amzing car for its time and the blocks were so amazing they were used in formula one cars.

  • I'm sure they're wonderful. They're both fugly though.

The Z thing looks like the cock car driven by peter in family guy.

The 2002 was of the time and morphed in to the 3 series.

  • Which one do you want?

If its for Mal you should go for the mafia look 7 series with tinted windows lowered

    or a pink smart car.................

Was offered a 750il e38 a while back. thought about putting the engine in something lightweight but get the feeling i would run out of talent alot.
