If you got say a 991.2 GT3 on PCP and it’s worth 180% of the purchase price at the end of your term then it would make sense to pay the balloon if you could.

Yes but consider the price of a brand new inlet manifold to replace the swirl flaps.
I'm starting to discover that it's probably not going to be possible to source a new one anyway!

Very much all of this. spot on.
I don't have a stereo in the Fiat and very rarely turn the one on in the BMW. I just listen to car rattles and bangs over a background of road hum.
I don't want anything happening in the car without my having pulled, pressed or flicked something first.
I only use the sun or the moon for navigation.

Edit due to idiocy

Now I just want to know what it was.

A concern about your white leather and the effects of selvedge denim and baby sick. Responding to a post on the previous page whilst complaining to a colleague about circular references in a spreadsheet.

Fair enough.
I mean, I do have a white interior Tesla Model 3 on order, for delivery next month. As well as an 11 week old child so...
The only blessing is that I’ve given up on life and mainly live in joggers now so no issue with dye transfer.

Musk now delivering semi-grown babies as well?
The man's ambitions know no bounds.

Ha. I wouldn’t put it past him.

Gonna scrap our car - do I need to SORN it in the interim? Don't know how long it'll take to get collected and it's parked probably not ideally on a no-parking weekday daytime zone.
-
• #58688
TBH there's a lot to commend the idea.
Pregnancy's and childbirth are generally pretty shit and babies under 8m are mediocre.
Anyone know how where you find those investors who'll keep bankrolling a business regardless of losses?

Just discovered that the circular reference is my doing.. Double idiocy..
The cream cloth interior of our leaf has been ravaged by children, dogs and mtbs in that order.

Apparently the white material Tesla use (‘vegan leather’) is actually ok to maintain.
I guess time will tell.

Just discovered that the circular reference is my doing..
In my experience, the best response to this is denial, then start throwing blame around ;)

Lads, its only excel

If it's parked on a public road you can't SORN it. If it's parked on a public road it also needs to be taxed and insured (as of 2011 when Continuous Insurance Enforcement was brought in).
Soz but at least if it being taxed and insured until it's collected isn't an issue then you don't have to do anything else...
-
• #58694
You'll still need to insure it if it's parked on the road :/
Do you have a friend or relative who has room on their drive for a few days? -
• #58695
It’s taxed and insured. Just won’t run. Got it towed back to a garage the other day. Cost to fix nearly 2k according to a few quotes. So just seeing if i need to do anything between now and the time it takes a scrap truck to come. Trying my best to avoid a ticket that would likely negate any scrap value but what will be will be.
-
• #58696
If it’s taxed and insured, it’s just a case of putting it somewhere you can leave it. Get a friend to tow it somewhere you can leave it?

Car recommendation time - my brother's car has finally got to the point of no return after years of neglect so he's after a replacement.
Ideally an estate, mostly used for longer drives from London to the countryside, he lives in camberwell so ULEZ compliant please, budget... not a lot £1.5-£2k.
What's he getting?
-
• #58698
SORN is so you don't have to tax it, won't help with parking fines

• #58699
High mileage mondeo or octavia estate? Maybe a Seat Leon estate?
-

your red cap and speedos are in the post dude
In theory I guess PCP also gives you some flex to make mods. Equally because a leased car isn't yours I wonder if that then gives you more rights in the event of issues with it?
Out of curiosity has anyone heard of someone buying the car afterwards?
