  • Hard not to recommend a Golf GTI. Insurance might be an issue with no NCB. Best thing really is to go to a few dealers and try them out to see what you like the feel of.

I mentioned a few pages back about my colleague getting a Cupra 290 with insurance rolled in. Just checked and his 2yr lease is £400p/m all in.

Also thought I saw a 6 series with 4 doors today. Just checked and it's true....

  • If I was shopping in that category I'd buy a Mini Countryman Cooper S...

  • Also thought I saw a 6 series with 4 doors today. Just checked and it's true....

Utterly wrong, also saw one about an hour or so ago. Also fucking huge

But a little while later seeing a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus in Black with Silver stripes and mahOOOOsive spot lights was the perfect antidote.

  • Much like this

  • Auto Audios in Park Royal right? You'd recommend them?

  • Seriously though, what is it?

    A "sporty" 5 series?

Maybe I'm getting old, but what is with all these random numbers? 3, 5, 7 (and 8) was fine.

Curious to see what the 9 series will be like. A LWB 8 series? Or maybe a 7 series coupé?

  • I don't quite get what a 2 / 4 series is. Is a 2 the old 'not hatchback' 1 series and the 4 a slightly better looking 3 series? They both look about the same size as the others.

  • The latest Z4 is as ugly as sin too, not to mention that it’s about 50% bigger than the (imo) beautiful original.

  • For 15-20k?? You mad bro.

    M235i - sure... @Tenderloin - this look okay.

    Also, hatchback if interested...

  • Remembered that some states have a sort of checks for emissions, and maybe others are a little stricter but nothing like an UK MOT.

  • The 4 series is the new 3 series coupé...

…except when it has 4 doors. Which is why they got rid of the coupé line from the 3 series.

No doubt soon they will make a 2/3 door 3 series.

The 2 series is sort of a revival of the 02 series... I think.

  • ^ This.

I currently have a 4 Series Gran Coupe which is the 4 door version of a 2 door version of a 4 door saloon.

  • All this BMW talk is boring. So Kei Cars. Those little japanese cars that seem popular.

So have had a few beats, cappucinos and cuores but never an autozam AZ1. Midengined and Gullwing doors make it great- FACT

Think that the front end does look alot like an RS200 with and f4o esque rear

Here is Jay lenos take: https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/car-design/a22652309/jay-leno-autozam-az-1/

  • Yeah I’d been looking at those, 3 series and Merc cls 350 (but think this is a bit bigger?). I think I like the A-class aesthetically the most but probably need to test some out.

  • What do you want it for?

  • The new A Class (not in budget if you want to buy) is nice but the previous version has a shit interior.

The BMWs will be more fun / engaging to drive as the they’re 6 cylinder, rear wheel drive.

If you don’t care about that, something like the focus might be better value.

  • I just had a look at Autocar, of the current crop of hatchbacks I'd have a Golf, and inevitably I'd have whatever the fastest one is, because reasons.

I find it hard to be interested in modern cars though, although I do keep considering swapping the C55 for a C63 I suppose.

    Clio V6?

  • Clio V6?

Not much in the way of a boot, what with the engine?

  • Maybe I just keep my powder dry for the Taycan...

    Audi A3 SLine?

  • Skoda fabia vrs or Monte Carlo if the insurance is too high on the vrs

  • And if you were spending that much on a golf you could almost get a 5cyl rs3...

  • Anyone know a site that will give me a price for these? Just finding "POA", which is extremely irritating and (if there's any other option) guarantees that I won't "A":

  • Audi A3 SLine?

If you do, I'd try and choose one with no sunroof or tow bar attachment/option. (Anecdotal based on a couple of the many AA men who charged and/or replaced my mum's battery, but they do see a lot of cars)
