Likewise, I bought the correct stalk and it was fairly straightforward

The answer is actually a cummins 12 valve in a defender 130!
-
• #48130
Awesome, are you gonna be keeping that in? I know they're meant to be pretty reliable.
-
• #48131
If the answer is diesel then the question is wrong.

They sound so good with a little tweaking. Top motors. Probably weigh more than the rest of the defender though..

No plans to change, it’s lovely. You really don’t want to go fast in this!

Agreed. I did once spend far too long working out the logistics of fitting a 130 body onto a raised D4 A8 4.2 V8 Tdi chassis and running gear though... 400bhp/ 800nm with a remap and cosy running gear.

Thats amazing.
You could out run it in the 126 by swinging a couple of swift mini roundabout rights. Watch the thing topple...
Speaking of your 126, I watched this over the weekend:

cheers for that T. enjoyable watch. and so much of it rings true. glad my 126 is older though as that is harsh about the ULEZ. had no idea that was so costly.

Watching it definitely gave me a tinge of jealousy... They look like such a laugh.

My granddad had a succession of fiats, a 126 among others. Always rusted and gave him trouble during the winters. Still, find myself a bit nostalgic and wanting one now.

@mashton I much prefer the older ones. I saw this today, I shouldn't like anything about this, totally ridiculous in London, but I still kinda want it.
Saw this too, original XJ6 from 1st year of release in 1968, 51 years old this year and still a handsome looking chap/cad/bounder.
And much lust for this, surely the most pretty Peugeot ever.

Custom exhausts. Anyone had one made? I've got literally no idea how much it costs, and anywhere I've called have just suggested I come in to get a proper quote.
It's for my Focus ST - probably just a cat back to make it sound lairy for now. There's loads of bolt on aftermarket systems available, just toying with the idea of having one made really.

Longlife is an ok budget option by all accounts. You should be able to find a fitter near you. The product is good but fabricators vary.
I've had two made and fitted by Haywood and Scott. Would recomend. -

None of the above (they're in Kent) but I've had four sets of wheels done by these guys and they're always excellent: http://www.lepsons.com/

Started spending money on the Landy. Fuel cap had no gasket, rattled in its seat and smelt of unleaded from ten paces. £3 to sort.

have you watched the in car? it's mind bendinly fast at points but so boring, and seemingly limited to 170mph.
I can't help but think if it has some sort of overdrive / gearbox for just the really quick bits it would have been quicker.
I had the right bits in the car to just buy the indicator and washer stalks and swap them. I added steering wheel buttons at the same time.
Buy genuine bits! I bought knock-offs and one of the stalks stopped working so it had to be done again
It should be pretty straight forward. Have you looked at YouTube?
