  • Ingersoll Rand make a garagiste compressor that is fucking quality. Think it comes in 20 and 30lt sizes and runs off most domestic supplies. I'll ask my mate what the model is next time I see him. Wasn't cheap, so one to pick up second hand but apparently they're bulletproof.

  • I have a 50 litre DD you can borrow long term if you want it, we've ended up with 4, only need 2 in use and one spare. It says V8 on the side so you know its good.

  • From experience, mine would pop the 13amp plug fuse on start up when it was cold. Hence a little modification..also occasionally trip the RCD. Never sure if it was damp or some earth leak in the fuseboard/rcd.,

  • Any tool auctions near you? Do such things still exist?

  • We're Texans now

  • Cam chap has come up with three different grinds of increasing lift and duration, topping out at a 12.5 lift intake and 11.5 exhaust.

Duration for the new cams? 280-300?

  • Standard is 272, our three designs are 280, 286, 294.

  • So jealous. I dream of a pick up.

  • So country music....

  • Ingersoll rand make some quality gear. Totally advice buying 20 + year old ir air tools condition unknown over pretty much anything new you can find in a regaulr UK toll shop (there are exceptions, I bought a facom ns 1600f stubby Air impact, used the hell out of it for 6 months, almost too powerful and for its size, unreal, £160 but paid for itself in the first two hours of use if I'm honest, freed up some bolts that nothing else has touched, even a huge commercial sized IR impact)

  • BBS LM, or BBS E88?

  • BBS E88:

    BBS LM:

  • Always been a fan of LMs on 90s cars

  • Another vote for LMs

  • Comical looking for LM's on eBay - the 5x130 ones are huge money in comparison to the 4x100's.

  • It's got to be E88 on a 911

  • They’re about £700 more (new).

  • I thought it was a touch more than that, no? E88 are about 4k a set?

  • You've not seen the price of LM's with the Porsche stud pattern.

  • Weren't you thinking of Fuchs a while back. Quite like the look of those on a cab

  • I think they're a bit too retro. I may change my mind again however.

  • Aesthetically, BBS LM.

Although I love BBS rims on almost everything (isn't there a car thread somewhere called "the BBS affect"??)... wouldn't something more organic like the turbo wheels suit it better?

  • It's a narrow body car, same as the Cup, which raced extensively on E88's.

Issue is the E88 has an alloy lip that is polished, but not coated with anything - not a great deal of salt gets spread on a race track, but on the roads corrosion is a real issue. You're recommended to get the lip clear annodised or otherwise coated.

LM's are very similar to the E88, but are actual road wheels, so you don't have these concerns. They're much heavier than the E88's though, and to my eye less attractive.

€4,500 a set for E88's, £3,200 for a set of LM's. I'm unlikely to buy new at those prices.
