My God! It's full of stars!

I so love that quote...listen to the link for him saying the immortal line...

    thanks...!

oh and to whet your appetite...as it's cars and all...

this is my baby, I have had him since I was 16. He and I survived many spills the most serious me driving off the road and into lake at 50mph...on slicks in torrential rain, not a good mix.
Good job I can panel beat...swim...ejecta passenger door...etc...ahem...;D

He now has 94bhp at the wheels with 100lbs of torque, 0-60 6.7, 118mph-6200rpm, only used on odd days,...maybe a gallon a month. 1967 race prepped 's' spec cooper mk2.

  • Will pay with naked pictures.

    Interested.

  • Seriously? Can I please come and just look at it. Even photograph it? I fucking love the EVO 2.

It's in storage at my parents over in the United States of Essex. Later this month it'll go in for its' annual service and get dusted off before doing the 300 or so miles it does on a yearly basis before going back into storage again.

I REALLY love that car - It's outlived 3 girlfriends! Yes I pour money into it but it provides me with a terrific sense of wellbeing.

    Ah, happy days....

    Motherfuck! I like!

  • Stupidly jealous. One of the many cars I need to own before I die.

The Rallye ^^ looks really tidy. Just got rid of mine after 3 and a half years. Missing it loads. You on the Rallye register ?

yep! Just got some new front brakes from there as mine are fooked... one thing after another to be honest with this car! Hope your replacement car is worthy...

I like these illustrations of 70's F1 cars:

  • Beautiful.

    Loving th 106 also.

Nearly died so many times in one of these.

Here's a modern 3D illustration that floats my boat...

'24 heuers du Le Mans'. Two mistakes, so attention to detail isn't their strength, eh? ;)

  • Very quick. Grammar aside, it is the attention to detail that makes it.

  • sweet model that. Love those mercs plus the 7ltr Jaguars of the same era.

there is nothing like a mini at speed for 'frantic'...you are soo close (too everything...ie the floor, the engine, the bit of 'life' happening at the end of the bonnet...that the representation of speed...is like that of a ferrari...when you hit LouD...they go...they really go..
I had a mk2 Gti golf...which was a lovely car...I really liked it.., it was good nick, low mileage, just lovely...though it doesn't matter what you do in a 'car'...when comparing to a mini...they are still more mental...more loud...more kick arse...than most things...the original design was soo well done in the first place....

So with a minus/midus/similar...you take all that was good...and then make it better by making it out of fibre glass...wicked...my mate has a hayabusa...which is scary...the bhp per ton is really really stupid fast...

it's like on a par with a formula 3000 or something stupid like that...I mean reeaaallllllyyyyy really fast.

    anyhow...thanks for posting sam!!

  • As an aside...late last night I wrote about the brm v16? as someone had posted a clip of some amazing ferrari? or something similar...

this was in the 40's I think...just checked '49 ...me and my sister went as kids a few times with my dad to see 'it..' at donington they took it round the track...you could almost hear it going from one end to the other...it was really that noisy..

    anyhow...I wrote loads this morning....just to say...supercharged 1.5litre almost flat V16...creating 485 bhp at 11,000 rpm...

it is mental...BRM...is this why you are called brm?

    here is the noize...!!

    if it's a repost..then ok.

    sorry..

  • frayed not. big red motherfather, innit.
there was a lotus with the brm engine at goodwood that year too.

Felt this needed to go up. Fantastic montage of the Nurburgring 24hrs. Amazing production

Let me get it out, get it serviced and I'll bring it round.

I also have to bring it into town because Pigfarmer has "dibsed" himself a ride in the beast.

    Where are you in Essex?

  • The hole that is Romford. Willing to travel...

  • sweet model that. Love those mercs plus the 7ltr Jaguars of the same era.

Apparently the C-9 still holds the fastest laptime at Le Mans. This is due to a track alteration made the next year.

I've seen a 16 cylinder BRM at Goodwood. Derek Bell was running it a few years back.

It's not the worst place to be. I actually shed a tear when they pulled down "Hollywoods" and replaced it with luxury flats. Many a drunken night in there with wall to wall sluts. A delight amoungst nightclubs!

I looked at 6 before I settled on mine - it was about £3k more than any of the others but long term it's saved me a kings ransom because the bloke I bought it from even kept petrol receipts!

Given the price of unleaded currently, I can only assume that filling it up will offer a similar sensation to arse rape. OPEC is an expensive mistress!
