  • The ability to have the rack (or Roof Transport System, in Porsche) was designed into the car from the start - if it hadn't been then it would be significantly more Heath Robinson.

With the MR2 you could look at mounting a rack onto the hardtop, depending on how firmly it's attached.

  • Not dual carriage way, as it once was....

  • Check the mounting points of the tow bar.

  • Bit I was on was. Unfortunately not with a hard shoulder...

  • As it once was, that used to be a very nice driving road.

Part of the reason that there are bits of the were converted to single carriage way was that a family friend was killed when her car hit a tree along that road. She was driving to collect her daughter from school, and was 3 times over the legal drink drive limit at 3pm. So the road was to blame and altered. Not the being pissed when going to get your daughter from school.

EDIT Thanks to the dodgy weather, I now have the toyota celica that has been damaged. So MR2 will be reborn with a below 50k full toyota sevice history, one owner engine and box.

  • I'm booking Goodwood member's meeting in about 6 hours, so on the off chance you're still in your pants drinking port, eating cheese, and planning 2019, let know if you want to come as I get discounted early bird tickets as I'm a "fellow". The discount ends at midnight. I can buy 2 more on top of the 2 I'm already buying.

  • If that doesn't make sense it's possible it's because I'm in my pants drinking port and eating leftover porchetta.

  • Note that the dates have changed from last year, it is two weeks later.

  • No cheese.....heathen.

  • So MR2 will be reborn

    What's yours? Post a picture.

  • Lol

  • mk3, currently very near you at a property on the bewdley by pass. Feel free to go and take photos.

Has been mentioned before, friends ebay purchase from a trader. Engine destroyed by the pre cat colapsing. Trader didn't want car back. So I got it. Been looking for a 190 bhp celica to do the engine swap but could not find an engine and other bits (wiring and ecu etc) or car that was either poor or too good to break or too expensive. Celica is at a friends salvage yard near stourbridge.

  • anyone else get a ULEZ warning letter in the post?

prolly going to have to sell the 'brover. which sucks. i really love that car.

    balls.

  • As for MR2 racks

Boot rack is advisable to get some storage space

I have not, but the 911 won't pass and will have to pay - I wonder why you've got one and I did not, do you drive it into the new zone fairly often?

  • i think it's because i drive a big dirty arse diesel and the DVLA knows it.

the the first roll out of the zone happens in April 2019, with a view to expanding it come 2021. As much as i enjoy owning my car, there's no way i'm spending 12 notes a day for privilege.

    RIP

  • whilst i don't entirely disagree with any effort to improve the air quality in LFL, i do feel this sort of regressive taxation bullshit is going to hit the poorest far harder than some moneyed W1 resident who will happily shrug off a few hundred quid a month for the convenience / cachet of driving a fuck off car in town 7 days a week.

  • a cursory glance at le 'trader suggest that the same model / year / more mileage is going for the same, in some cases more than what i shelled out 2 odd years ago. which is good to know.

so! ULEZ compliant head turners - come at me.

  • Watched it the other night; they're nearly there!

Maybe 3 or 4 episodes left?

  • That’s got to be 8 or 10 episodes by their standards

  • You're probably right.

As someone who's watched since the first episode, it's super satisfying to see it all come together.

  • Yeah same!

the bit i'm interested in next is how they prep everything for paint. By that i mean, there are so many bare metal cavities with only weld through primer that it'll need some proper rust proofing and any surface corrosion removing for longevity.

I just checked, unless I turn off the South Circular, toward the centre of London, I won't get charged - even when the zone expands.

That's for the 911 - the five and a half litre estate car passes and isn't subject to the charge, and therefore is the ideal around town runabout.

  • I missed what the tape covered letter box shapes were in the doors, did you catch it?
