I have that table, can take a peek at the legs when I get home.

I only have 2 g-plan tables to compare ; however both have removable legs (neither are that particular model so could be an exception).

Needs to be string or rope.

All of this. Especially the latter.

No problem. I’m in the lounge at JFK as I type this so will be in table-examining range in around 12 hours.

Two year old RAV4 from a Toyota dealer, yes or no... I'm actually asking for a friend...

Ha!
Cheers. It's much appreciated. Just copped an earful from MrsH... "I've told you the legs don't come off, the seller told you the legs don't come off. Why don't you believe they don't come off?"
Me: "ummm... I just don't."I plan to try and use this as leverage for an estate. But not right now :s

I did a search online because I was annoyed on your behalf, but all I turned up was one current eBay ad that also says the legs don't come off.
Sorry.

They can't just be glued on, there must be a mechanical joint there somewhere.
Of course, they could be bolted / screwed and glued...

Thanks for all the warm words of support.
I knew I wasn't being unreasonable.

I am weighing this up.
The challenge is the size of my mini's roof, or obtaining the blessing of my mum to tie a table to the roof of her golf.
But you've made me think I should check if my mates S4 has roof rails.
I'm also pondering some sort of cheap roof rack (as I need to sell my car soon I don't want an expensive car specific one).

In more interesting car chat I spotted one of these this morning
Definitely would if money were no object.

Makes me sad that Porsche haven't released a Panamera Coupé as a sort of triumphant throwback to the 928.
-

I was going to say maybe theyre sticking to their knitting with 911 themed cars, but actually Porsche seem to have branched out quite well.

I reckon if you take a big flat bladed screwdriver you have a total of 12 screws standing between you and the legs coming off:

However, when I collected my table from my grandparents house I put it in the back of the Volvo rather than fuck with it. WARNING: table may be glued, I didn't take a leg off to check.
If I were in your shoes I'd cycle to the nearest Zipvan to the table, climb in, drive to table, table in van, drive home, table into home, drive back to where I got the van, park, remove bike from back of van and cycle home again.

Cheers. That's much appreciated.
Hadn't thought about the glue. But do feel somewhat vindicated in my assessment of the construction.
It's in Kent, so unfortunately the zipvan costs jump up to the range of a man and a van.

I'd probably head over there armed with a screwdriver and some hope then.

Despite my earlier comment - I suspect they wouldn't glue a table top to the frame as well as screwing it. I think you could expect the tabletop to change shape (humidity / temperature changes) sufficient to weaken a glue joint over time.
You'll probably be ok.

Good point. I'm definitely still taking a screwdriver, as fuck navigating it through their house and mine with the legs on unless it's a must.
The pain is that every reasonable option I'd thought of has a random logistical issue - mate using his car, another mate's isn't big enough, mileage pricing out zipvan, van rental places closing too early, etc.
Maybe I'm just being tight. But it's frustrating when you believe there are sensible alternatives to paying two strangers to go probably fuck up a piece of furniture for you.

Buy a roof rack just in case. If you don’t need it return it for a refund.
Upside down on car roof with cloth padding beneath and secured with ratchet straps through windows?
