Like this if car is black, I'd prob go lighter if it's that weird iridescent blue colour, did mine in a colour called "titanium" which equates to a lighter variant of "anthracite".
A very dark colour or black would look weird imo -

It's a long time since I dealt with motor insurance, but adding a second car as a "temporary additional vehicle" is straightforward: the policy will be transferred to your new car and a cover note issued for your old one.
Obviously a common situation and this was the easiest way of dealing with it.
Cheaper than buying an independent, short-term policy as the premium has to be earned over a shorter period: if the car was totalled or nicked, the cost would be the same.
And test drivers relying on the "driving other cars" extension of their own insurance will likely have Third Party Only cover, so any prangs to your car won't be covered. You'd need to have them temporarily added to your policy for that.

Cams been assembled dry?
EDIT - Better monitor and I can see the oil on the lobes. The defence of my logic, in the first photo, the table with the bits on is not just cleared but clean, and kitchen standard stainless cleanable surface. The other photos show a painted and clean floor. All so no dirt/debris enters the engine. Seem illogical to me to go to that detail and then assemble the cams dry.

Looks that way, Steve, the builder built Andy Forest's 1200 bhp Subaru flat six, so hopefully he knows what he's doing. I get the engine full of oil and he primes it by hand before I take delivery.
All I have to do it install it and turn it over for 30 seconds before starting it.

Solid advice, thanks, seems like the best option if my insurer offer that.

Good plan! I was surprised that the cost was so low - might be an option for you.

long euro runs
Too much fruit?
My newphew bought a new car recently- he transferred his insurance to it. He was selling his old car privately and I asked him about insurance. He was going to take a chance for any test drives etc. I told him to wise up and phone his insurance and see how much. £27 for three days was the price. That’s the option he took. He was able to extend it if he needed but thankfully the car sold in day one. He got a £10 rebate.
No insurance is 6 points and fine. But the insurance company will hit you ten times harder when you renew with a no insurance conviction.
