  • My folks are mad Ford motorsports fans, so it’s a done deal

  • It hammers. Surprised how good it is.

  • Get up speed and swerve left and right, if it gets worse when you swerve right it's probably the bearing

  • I'd have a GT350, debadged, despoilered in bottle green. Did the one you try have the new 10sp Auto? The old one was the weakest link....10spd sounds bonkers.

  • Yeah, keep in mind I'm a long distance lurker. It was Arthur Lang in Kirkaldy Fife.

I got a report of all the stuff they fucked up at the time (last March) and have been waiting impatiently for my engine builder to free up, he's now uncovering more shoddy work, parts billed for and not fitted and parts damaged.

I'm going to take all this to my credit card company and try to claim money back for the first invoice.

  • Mr Bahar revisting cult classics for the private sector...

Also a 412 in the pipeline.

  • Any of you lot owned a KP starlet? Thinking about picking one up as a bit of a runabout in NZ.

  • I'm back from Tenerife, where I was slow - but not as slow as the Volvo, which wouldn't start when it was time to go to the airport last weekend.

I tried it again today, spins but no fire. I pulled the fuel-pump fuse, tried again - nothing.

I think it's the cam position sensor, as I've just changed:

    • The ECU
    • The engine loom
    • The crank position sensor

And I've run out of what else it could be.

  • I like the car, but this is annoying, and I might buy a new one that, of all things, I can rely on to start.

Suggestions are welcome, variations on the fast estate theme probably, but I did find myself considering a day-van type thing whilst on holiday.

  • V60 Polestar

  • That is rad. Believe it comes with Ohlins, which would save you the bother of getting them installed.

  • PCP: £8000 deposit, £433.23*36 with a balloon of £15729.72 at the end of the term.

    HP: 36m with £8000 deposit, £826.80*36

  • Probably less than you spend per annum on the current Volvo.

  • @Fixedwheelnut

    I have a 65 plate f36.
I sat in a newer one yesterday and it had a wireless charging plate in the armrest. Is that something i can retrofit or do only the newer models have the necessary cabling to make it work?

  • If we roll the deposit in, we get:

    PCP: £8003/year

    HP: £12,588/year

I don't spend the HP figure on the Volvo, I'm probably spending less than the PCP figure.

  • @mi7rennie

Just out of curiosity who is building your engine?

  • A v60? Really? If you’re considering M5’s, I can’t really see you reasoning yourself into a v60.

I’ve only driven a bog standard one, and you sit nice enough but I find the interior hopeless. It’s like half of its missing.

  • Honestly, I just want something reliable that I can put bikes in at this point.

  • Steve at SW motorsport, near Edinburgh. Lovely clean workshop and clearly knows what he's doing... Plus very reasonable price too!

  • Andy Forest fettled mine with Deadbolt 18g plus a few other things (and mapped it) up that end of the country :)

  • Ace, Andy is going to map mine once I'm done.

Only power mods are 3 exhaust with sports cat, TGV delete, grimmspeed boost solenoid and walbro 255 fuel pump. Hoping for a nice safe tune and smooth power delivery, not really fussed about power numbers .

  • Don't come better than Andy Forrest and Bob Rawle :).

  • Just about any new estate.
