That's a shame, I was looking forward to lying on the bonnet in a bikini.

Kia Sportage: opinions?
Not after anything groundbreaking. Just something big, with good reliability, and good VFM. Kia seems to tick all these boxes.
Test drove a 1.2 Skoda Yeti this morning, and am not sold. Booked a test drive with Kia on Friday. One I’m looking at is 5 years old with 50k.
My GF will be the main driver, and she’s not too keen on the Yeti, but is concearned the Sportage is a bit too big.

Kia Sportage: opinions?
Generally driven by weapons-grade cunts. Often seen towing caravans. Usually white.
Contender for world's most awful name. To drive, it's as indistinguishably bland as a Nissan Squashy or any other of the identikit mid-sized SUVs knocking around. -

Does a job tho.

Fucksake.
I hate buying cars so much. -

This is basically our biggest need.

Uninspiring eh?
Skoda superb?

Qashqai is more comfortable for driver and passengers than the Sportage and usually gets better discounts and finance rates on places like Carwow...

• #37288
How big? What do you need to carry?
-
• #37289
And most importantly, why an SUV? Why not a proper car without the sporting lifestyle bollocks pretensions?

Dogs. Bikes. Camping gear.
2 week road trips in France with all our shit and dogs and not feeling cramped are what we want size for.
Our mini Clubman is great, but just not up to this sort of ask. Even with a roof box.

Yeah that is the usual. Are you keeping or getting rid?

My GF doesn’t like the length of estates. She would rather get SUV type thing, and feels more comfortable driving them over estates, she will be the main driver.
I know that doesn’t really make sense, but it’s what I’ve got to work with.
I want to get a T5 kombi with captains seats, but unsurprisingly she’s not down with that.

Is reverse knackered again?
-
• #37298
Heard these are the investment of the future.
-

Too mainstream down that way, I understand her point on the T5.
Most estates will be 25-30cm longer than an SUV. Barely noticeable and mitigated by parking sensors anyway.
I recommend an A4 Allroad.

I’m over fast cars. My M135 taught me the valuble lesson that fast cars are fucking dumb unless you also have a normal car for actually doing the normal boring shit that real life requires 98% of the time.
scenic, not S C E N E
