  • Achtung!

  • but you'll only get love for Mazdas and Volvos on this thread ;)

Don't forget Porsche. But fair comment. A personal fave

  • There's a motortrend review of that in YouTube, think ignition? But it will increase your lust. They are a rare modern car... Beautiful inside and out and good to drive. Not a sports car but a well balanced, smooth and comfortable GT.

  • Meanwhile, appreciating the Honda urban EV concept, really cool. Hope it gets to production.

  • Ha - Mrs would kill me if I even thought about entering the Baja 1000. The entries are pretty cheap but it costs a packet to do and is mentally f'king dangerous.

I'm just doing LA-Barstow-Vegas - which is a ride not a race. Don't rule out doing a proper desert race at some point though...

Prep is going slow - lots of little things need fixing. Now need to stick a timesert in the sump before I take all the bouncy bits off for a strip and rebuild. Seems OK so far though - it's hilarious to ride on the road.

  • It's a fucker alright. No. 1 suspect is a leak in the remote servo which takes vacuum off the manifold near pot 4.

It is a shame it has happened to such a sweet engine, at such an awkward time.

  • A couple of beautiful automobiles today (mines the red, err, flakey pink one....)

  • Like that, reminds me of at renault 5 gt turbo

  • 309?

    Good chassis.

Learnt on the old dears TDI as a yuot.

Managed to write it off too. 😎

  • This passed me this morning southbound on Porstmouth road.

For a minute I thought it was a Daytona Competitzione.

  • I wonder if the designer always wanted an aero-ed, bodykitted Golf MkI?

  • Nice! What do you/Gravity think caused the dodgy geo? Is it whoever looked at it before (Precision?) messing things up or has it just worn out that way?

  • 306 GTi6 with a few head and cam mods.
Revs clean to 7500 and pulls hard from 4000. Pretty good value for 1800 bucks.

    And brilliant chassis.

  • Well the 306 is a pinifarina era pug and the golf is giugiaro so maybe?

  • It was setup that way by (has to be) Precision. Which is interesting.

  • Interesting is one way of putting it!

  • I am also a big fan of the shape, and TheSmokingTire reckons it has the best seats of any car ever, but unlike @anthonyj, I think that whole tablet on the dash interior that Merc are loving at the moment is totally gopping.

  • I like that - it looks like it's got a little bit of a tiny Lancia Delta in there somewhere too

  • Seen most of them on Instagram, but it was interesting to go back and read all the bits you've not put up on here. The Ohlins were a lot more reasonable than I thought!

  • Those GT1 and GT2 homologation specials are my childhood dream cars.

  • How's it getting to 2k? Is there a lot more than mere piston replacement involved?

  • I love this concept, especially the interior, which eagle eyed readers will notice makes me somewhat a hypocrite as the interior is basically a massive screen.

  • How much longer have you got before the ride?

I'm starting to feel the want to move to LA again to do silly shit like this.

  • I was working out how to ask if this is the engine you built without it being awkward

  • yep - my engine, but the build wasn't the issue.
