  • Keep adding people till it stops dropping. Any one you can think of who has a license and no claims...

  • Yep, €1600 for a reconditioned exchange. Can't help but think how my recent repair bills are the price of a custom Feather road build.
I do love it though... next project is a North Shore style bikerack for the back :)

  • I'm in Ireland unfortunately. Somewhat more limited options available although €1600 isn't terrible compared to about €3000 for an OEM replacement I've been told.

  • Ignorant driver alert

Got an old Ford Focus Zetec here. Until recently it had driven really nicely, but when accelerating it feels like the power isn't being transmitted to the gearbox properly. Putting your foot down a little too heavily will result in the revs going high, but not actually resulting in anything until you drop the revs slightly.

From my very limited understanding of car transmission, it sounds like a clutch issue. Thoughts?

Don't make me sell it any buy a Yeti

  • Makes hill starts, entering busy roundabouts and overtaking on dual carriageways a little tricky. The 4hr drive home from hilly Devon was fun...

  • Yeah your clutch needs changing

  • Hmm.. makes hill starts?

Oh sorry I thought you were saying hill starts were fine!

    Yes it's your clutch

  • I've got a 2006 Transit Connect with the 1.8 tdci engine. I get this when booting it to overtake uphill in 3rd or 4th. Haven't experienced it in 1st or 2nd yet. Not sure if mine has the dual-mass flywheel.

  • the dsg on my mother in law's '11 golf just shat a mechatronic unit. fucking hell - I think I am going to sell the gti. £$€£$€£$€£$€£$€£$€£$€£$€£$€£$€

  • Yeah, mainly 3rd or 4th here too, but as I said, also lacks power from a standstill :/

Thanks for the info guys, at least I can gauge how much this'll cost to fix..

@Dammit - were these the firm that damaged your 911?

  • Our land is quite bumpy with loads of trees.

It will come with floatation tyres for minimum damage to the woodland floor. It has low centre of gravity, can handle steep slopes. Bends in the middle for tight turning circle, has twin hydraulics...

    Plus fucking fun.

  • Think it was Heathrow......

    Correct.

  • You could go like that. I'd go like this....(can't guarantee minimum damage to woodland floor mind...)

  • Would not be able to drag a flail mower, carry over a ton, no pto...

  • It'll just have to be both of them then.

  • Would be great if that was a handy George Foreman meat dripping tray on the front of that quad come kitchenette?

  • @dancing james does that articulated tractor come in an electric version? Would be great if it did... Imagine charging your farm equipment with your own wind turbine?

  • I'm just jealous. Sounds awesome, I love machines.

Also sounds like you're loving the countryside!

  • I've seen his tractor (no euph). It needs upgrading...

  • Afaik Current electric motors don't deliver enough torque. Perhaps in time but most people talk about buying a tractor that'll last a lifetime. Our long term plans are a new photovoltaic roof and electric personal vehicles.

  • Pretty sure electric motors have enormous torque, no?

  • John Deere have shown a prototype electric tractor but not sure they have reached the market yet. Alpine tractors are pretty niche so doubt they'll go electric soon.

  • Don't think the transits run dual mass
