  • This is West London my homie: my 4 most valuable posessions total £1000 worth.
2 bicycles, a painting and a gold chain.

In a blatant attempt at thread derailment, I'd like to see your painting - and everyone else's favourites...

  • I have to say I don't need anyone's permission to like things or talk about them. I like machines. bikes, motorbikes and cars. And planes, and boats. It's all engineering and it's all fascinating.

Off topic threads and posts keep forums like this alive. It's a given that we are all into bicycles, fixed gear and single speed ones in particular. So there's only so much we can talk about there. To find common ground and make friends we have to talk about other things.

Now I'm so terribly sorry that some people don't like cars, but at the end of the day, I don't live to please them or anyone. If you want to rant about how all cars are the devil's work then the LCC will be pleased to have you.

  • those 3500 rovers are nice machines, they have the worst brakes though :O

  • @BQ - i wouldn't mind an old jag, apart from the fact that every single part on them costs a fortune.

  • i don't think i can remember a post by you that wasn't just whining about the state of the forum.
How is that a useful contribution?

To be honest, I can't remember a single post by him. Full stop.

  • they are amazing cars.
a mate at home has one that is the fastest naturally aspirated rotary in oz - it is an absolute weapon.

I went though a phase of having several early '70s Jap cars. they are great little cars.

After wrecking the Quattro went for an RX-7 convertible.

Strong rotary engine made it a joy to drive.

    Still have it.

  • BRM the bits on the Jag might be expensive, but you can get a V12 for pennies which makes the cost of bits post purchase a bit more acceptable.

You can also use the marine V12 to replace the road going version if you feel it to be underpowered.

  • .

  • thats just so wrong...

  • It's my new ride.. purchased with the profits from the WAC sale..

Yep a pink Testarossa would go for a few pounds, so i'd believe you on that =P

I love pink too...a pink shirt is great... but.... sorry...thats just too OTT...even for you ... :]

  • @ Mick - It's a budget thing.

    Looking for something:

    1. British
    2. late '60s/early '70s
    3. not too much of a slug

    About 6-8K - ideas?

Admittedly it is a newer car, however it has the style of a 60s/70s car, with modern mechanicals.

    Nice +2 here

And, if you bought this, you would be my best friend, forever, it's what i'm after as my first car.

It's only got 150bhp, but it weighs the same as a gnat's testicle, huuuuge grin-factor.

ETA - I actually found a good car that was built in Ireland! http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=98505

That makes up for the De Lorean.

Now we just need to make a ship that floats to make up for the Titanic.

    my all time dream car

beautiful car... Id love to own a piece of that...

  • That is a lovely car, very Posche-esque at the back, for some reason I really love those little intakes on the front quarters, not 100% sure what they actually do, but they look fantastic, same on the E-Type too.

If it has to be British
    Mini Cooper
Ford Escort Mk1 or Mk2, RS 2000 or Mexico
    MGB GT V8

    and more obscure, less iconic
    TVR 3000m
    Clan Crusader
    Ginetta G15
    Reliant Scimitar
    Gilbern Invader

if you can find one.. that little rocket will set you back at least 300k...did you know only 75 DB4 GT's were produced and the Zagato was even rarer with only 14 being produced from 1961-1963...a dream...

You've beat me in top trumps there, my dream car there was only 48 produced, Caterham 21, basically a full bodied Seven.
