I had multipoint plugs in my M3 once and had to remove them. Absolute shit.
The R32 had multipoint plugs and when they were removed the tips were black.
I'll never use them again - platinum all the way from here on in.
How about iridium ;)
I've not had a problem, but then only ever used the bosch ones. Am awaiting a set of 4 electrode platinum ones for the beemer when I service it, may even change the cambelt too.
Flip side recently had new NGK plugs fail, out of the box. Just one in a set of four.

Just found this footage of a practice lap from Le Mans in 1956.
Love the road still being full of public and the 1st gen Go Pro camera and bluetooth mike.

I Took the Benz (and my wife) to the Cotswolds today, visiting a friend in Gloucestershire.
I cannot believe how good that motor is. It's a hell of a car. 250 miles in comfort, excellent ride, whisper quiet, great round the sweeping A roads, and obliterating the miles on the motorway, and so effortlessly fast. I bloody love it! -

Sad day for Motorsport. Not only the LM24h fatality, VLN4 had a heart attack resulting in a death at the wheel during the race today.

Incredible.
It is.
But, while I accept that "because I can" is a valid reason, I can't really imagine why you would want to build a fast car that is a) powered by 4 rotor Wankel engine rather than a more efficient Otto cycle engine, or b) based upon a Volvo 142.
Wouldn't you end up with a much better result by starting with something with decent suspension, like a Merc 124 or a Jaguar XJ40?
Alternatively, if making something highly unlikely go fast is your thing, why not start with something even shitter? Like a Morris Marina?
