Mother of God that is utterly batshit crazy. Should sound unreal... 53000rpm!!!

53,000rpm through the twin 7" exhausts.

Which given that the exhaust is running at 650 degrees centigrade might melt the tarmac.

Design with Style -- The Rover SD1 - YouTube
Some awesome retro computer, car and fashion action
Looking at these 15 minutes it's hard to imagine how such an awesome car as the SD1 got such a bad reputation. I think the men shown in the last few seconds might be to blame. -

That's very cool- I love the analogue computers in use, by a very serious looking man with a beard.
These days with a beard like that he'd be playing polo semi-pro.

The uploader has some awesome films in a similar vein - mostly old American stuff but some British and European films too. There's a nice one on the W107 Merc SL

Isn't the SD1 an overweight copy of the Daytona?
-
• #15223
They said at the time that it was "the sincerest form of flattery".
-
• #15224
The front is cribbed from the Daytona, and the interior of series 1s was heavily influenced by the 512BB - especially the door cards and instrument binnacle.
It was a big old bus for the time. These days a Ford focus dwarves it. -

New wheels added wheelgap. Somehow...
Sorry, that's a bit mean. I'm sure the mini is a laugh riot.
