Could you get the chrome bumper money by selling the wire wheel conversion parts and the wires?
hehe, probably, but i had justified the new brakes with that money!
the body will hold up a while longer - I have a few jobs to do first (carbs/exhaust), then I will start saving. i think it will just need a blow over, and the mods for the chrome conv. i'd like to do the engine bay, though. maybe when I need to do the engine (which won't be that far off.

I'm being lightly mocked on a Volvo forum for the puny size of my turbo.
Riddle me this, what power output would I see with an HX35?

• #12530
I do. First in my favourites...

Nice XM. Restore that instead.
That's a project that would never end - used to work for a car magazine and it was said that you were not a true petrolhead if you had never owned a classic Alfa or Citroen. Hard work for the rewards...
Not mine anyway. We were working at a mate's place and the XM is one of literally 15 cars he has 'awaiting attention'.

Window tinting in London, any recommendations? Ta :)
-
• #12533
I cannot recommend them because I've never wanted a car tinted, but Polimax in Bethnal Green have some nicely done cars outside sometimes

They have a Shebu branch too. -

Here's a few iphone pics from the Speed Trials. Fingers crossed I have some better film photos to follow....
Nice mix of cars. Brand new Aventador next to a tidy T5. Engine bay looked pretty special on the ovlov.
Lovely Alfa GT Junior (I think...)
8-Pots on stripped out R33 Skyline GTR
24v V6 Twin Turbo Turbo Technics lump in a mean looking race prepped XR4i. This is supposed to be around 530BHP. Sounded fit.
This looked scary....
and this cool ratty starlet was parked outside of the paddock...

^ That Starlet is tops, reminds me of a MK3 Golf ;)

A little snapshot from this weekend's work on (another) old kit car resto - body off, chassis stripped and repainted. Like massive Meccano:
Next, a bit of engine work and hours (and I mean hours) of GRP prep for paint...
Top tip =Use a boat builder to do the prep as well as repairs. Or enjoy the Nitromours fumes.

BBS centre caps.
€125 each.
Fuckin' stroll on...
-
• #12541
I know it's highly disrespectful on a genuine M3 but what about some center caps off all these fake BBS's that sem to be getting made these days?! Is it just the BBS badge or is it the whole 'lattice' centre?
-
• #12542
It's the centre which thankfully pops out.
The prices of these parts my guy calls "sundries" appear to be hilarious.
Mind you, I paid BMW money for a relay years ago because no one else made this particular part.
-
• #12543
hahaha. Still pay the money once and hopefully you shouldn't have to do it again. Just keep reminding yourself that it'll all be worth it!

I can't, after all that 'day before the wedding, what could go wrong' banter, I've been roped into helping out with setting up wedding shit. No dice...

How long can I expect new discs&pads to take to bed in.
I get the feeling that the knackered rear beam is not helping matters at all. Tempted to find a Pug Partner HDi 110 and drop the beam and engine into the 405. I will then only be 8bhp behind my "badman" workmate in his E46 but 300kg lighter.
