It isn't cutting corners, or streamlining. The man has invented and entirely new production process (in much the same way that Henry Ford did when he developed the moving production line) that can be applied to many, many manufacturing sectors that are not cars. however, cars are amongst the most complicated machines that are mass produced, and also where Gordon Murray has made his name so does it not make sense to prove his concept in an area that the man knows inside out?
