My excuses range from: working my arse off, not having kids or mortgage to worry about, not spending all my money on tight jeans and trainers :P, riding 'ok' bikes for 20 years and finally treating myself to some bling
+1.
This year involved a bespoke De Rosa and a pTap. Next year will be a little more frugal, I think.

When will you bunch of fucktards realise that 'record bonuses in the city' = we all have jobs. I'm fucked off with communist messengers. You fucktards don't even know what side you on...
If I see another 'I've been credit crunched' followed by 'I hate city wankers' followed by 'I won't buy that thing that I don't need for the price you want for it' thread I'm quitting the forum before Object can pursuade me otherwise.
Fucktards the lot of you.
Record bonuses in the city mean that some one some where is getting ripped off.
I spent a fair few years working in several banking institutions and received either no bonus or no pay rise but generally both combined, yet the MD received his bonus every year. He also had an 80k car (gratis) living on Island measuring 11 miles by 37 miles, free parking and without doubt a very large relocation package.
I hope he spent the lot on whores and that his cock dropped off.

The trickle-down effect is negligible in a globalised economy. If you give money to the rich, they'll move it wherever in the world it makes them more money. So that pretty much means China/India at the moment.
Laissez-faire capitalism has died, and the concept that the finance industry can drive the economy with it.

The noise my back wheel makes is, apparently, a metaphor for the economy. So what Gordon Brown needs to do is sort his bottom bracket axle out and buy a new chain ring.
Eh?
The turning wheel of economy?
If Gordon Brown thinks giving everyone 2.5 gear inches for a few years, will get us all spinning our pedals.
He is sadly deluded.
Further more when the whooping 7 GI is added on in years to come, to compensate, the knees of the nation will collapse! -

Exactly where I would invest if I had the funds. I have serious bike lust for this at the moment.

^ I prefer the lines of this... its part of Holdens 60th Anniversary, still concept stage but possibly going into production next year, as if the specs are enough to get excited about its calibrated for ethanol fuel!

That's what you want there, 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, and it's carbon neutral, good luck putting a negative spin on that Mr. Brown.
Okay, the car looks a little OTT, however it's a fantastic one.
And no, i'm not a chav.

sold more than I've bought so i'm in the minuses..
not by much, but I don't have what people call a "disposable income" really, if I want to buy a bike part, then i have to sell a bike part.
saving for trips to newport and calshot this winter is more important than any parts right now
Like RPM I think I've broken even. Sold a frame to pay for my Mercian frame, and then sold a few parts to get a new set of wheels - although that may change in the future as OpenPro aren't the stiffest rims.
When my MTB got nicked I got the insurance to pay for a Kona DH rig, which was nice, and I got my Dawes Audax bike and promptly sold all the Shimano kit, which went for more than I paid for the bike. I then splashed my profit on Campag kit, so now have a full quiver in terms of fixed, geared and DH MTB.
Now if only work let up enough for me to ride the bloody things...

I've just had a radio 4 producer in my kitchen recording the sound my bike makes when the back wheel turns; you can't put a price on that.
You have a kitchen? That you can fit a bike in? And a Radio 4 producer? At the same time?
Well laa-dee-daa Mr Wig 'un.

Personally i'm a huge fan of Lotus, all of their cars, only manufacturer who have never made a bad car, hoping to get a placement there and go there after uni =D
I will have one of these, one day.

Apart from a few specialist car manufacturers, I couldn't think of any others, plus Lotus are one of the few that always make sure their cars are as light as reasonably possible, which I completely agree with, I may be a little biased towards them of course =P
