]Went and bought the digital EP a little while ago, was disappointed that it sounded pretty metalcore (recording was good tho, so if you're into the style its an irrelevant complaint), but i do like that its a band that wears their politics on their sleeve.
I see a lot of old bands posted in this thread, how does diy punk look in your part of the UK today? (I don't live there so I dunno)

I don't understand this punk/hardcore differentiation no doubt it means something to the spring chickens on the forum.
However, punk as it was - how it started - as it will always be in its very essence was to me unemployed feckless youths with a modicum of talent (sometimes none) and a couple of mates with some drums and a guitar milking it for all it was fucking worth and telling the world how they really felt.
It was rock 'n' roll but in another era. The driver and the sentiment were no different. It was this:

It was the late 70s it was a different Britain it had nothing to do with the US as much as I like The Ramones for example it was completely different. They simply aped what was happening here.

Something that every 16 year old could identify with and for me at least the power of punk was that it was all inclusive. It spoke to a generation and gave them hope, a sense of power outside of family expectation a sense of belonging to something else and relief from the eternal boredom of being a teenager - something that at 40 odd I'm only just coming to terms with:
